One thing that isn't realised enough is traditional Islam views prophets as theophanies of their version of the Logos, which they call various things: the Breath of God, the Perfect Being, the Reality of Muhammad, the Light of Muhammad, etc. There are traditions where Muhammad says ''I was a prophet when Adam was between water and clay'', or things like that.
