What are your thoughts about this thorny topic? Letโs discuss in the comments!
#Facilitation does not have a central, universally recognized accreditation body. There is no university degree you need to practice facilitation, nor must you register anywhere.
In other words: you do not need a certificate to be a facilitator.
In fact, most facilitators around the world do not have any form of written documentation testifying to their skills besides their CVs.
Is this a good, or a bad thing? In classic facilitation style, weโre going to say: โIt dependsโ

How can I learn #facilitation skills?
๐โโ๏ธPick up facilitation on the go: start by making small interventions to improve how meetings are held in any group you are part of. Ask around: what is working well in how we hold our meetings? What would you like to improve?
๐ Enroll in a facilitation hashtag#training course. Joining a facilitation training course is often quite the investment, in time, money, and/or travel, but it will pay back.
Otto Scharmerโs Theory U presents a framework for leading change through co-creation. Facilitators value its insights into transformative leadership and practical methods for guiding groups through complex processes.
