@DaReal_EmKay47@LeratoPillayZA Laughs in Zimbabwe police on behalf of Zanu PF/State. Honestly, this is one of the few things South Africa has that I envy…but one day we are going to test the thesis…maybe in a few days😎
Eh, let’s not get too excited. The borders we defend so passionately were generated by white people…the economic foundations were designed by white people…and the ANC track record since 1994 suggests maybe things are only better because black South Africans were last to be freed.
Well, the ANC led governments has always protected the crazy Zanu PF government in Zimbabwe. While I’m sympathetic that many Africans gravitated South and eventually overwhelmed the infrastructure you inherited from the white leadership, some dictators wouldn’t have thrived without SA help.
@visse_ss Do your thing, sha. Long as its not spreading this idea that black people from those borders down South - created by white people - are better than the other blacks from borders from other parts of the continent - also created by other white people.
@Bahcee6@PhakelaMthakath But it’s not past kings who made current borders. Anyway, am not a pan Africanist myself. I just don’t approve of this idea that 50 million blacks from South Africa are better blacks than other blacks from Africa because of a territory not even created by the same blacks.
@WolffHVLines African borders were indeed created by colonialism. Listen, you all have legit complains about illegal immigration…there’s no need to engage in mental gymnastics
@NMarawule This is one of the weaker arguments. We have North Korea and South Korea. We had East and West Germany. Now we have Russia and Ukraine redrawing borders. Point is, you didn’t draw up those borders…white people did. And based on that is how you decide who is family and who aint?
@dhonzamusoro007 Izi rekuti dununu unofarira shuwa. Listen, you are a decent intellectual…and a mediocre economic planner. The record is what it is…so a little more humility Mr
I agree. It’s not even 2028. They haven’t all completed their 5 years. But it’s important that we tell and SHOW them the term extension is invalid and will not happen. Thats how the people win. We just must never accept. Reminds me of Zimbabwe-Rhodesia of Abel Muzorerwa (sp) of 1979. This should get similar treatment and CONTEMPT.
Waiting to see what happens to South Africa in the coming weeks and months. To be sure, many of their concerns are valid. And it’s likely Black South Africa feels and IS overwhelmed.
That said, there seems to be a lot of delusion going around about the socioeconomic competence of South Africans as a block. In my experience, most people move abroad for the better infrastructure and economic systems. South Africa offers one for Africans. But it wasn’t black South Africans who created the foundation, in my view. The difference is observable in Capetown and parts of Johannesburg, for example.
Furthermore, the ANC has performed largely like other former liberation movements and this hasnt been great for SA. After all, they indulged and continue to indulge policies by their fellow liberation party just up north on some weird and misplaced solidarity…to the detriment of the whole SADC region.
So I’ll be for sure looking for second order effects, the intangibles that are not so obvious but have been shown to be crucial for economic growth and prosperity for any country. This is where I think the competence is greatly exaggerated.
Fascinating to see how it plays out. I remember Zims bullish that they could go it alone after forced Land Reforms by Robert Mugabe. He was wrong. So does South Africa not want illegal foreigners or it does not want foreigners at all? One of these leads directly to where Zim ended up.
@britsalterego Yes, Argentina for one. They literally eradicated black people over hundred years ago. And probably some of the Asian countries too. And East Europe.
