Official Twitter handle of Minister of State (Panchayat & Rural Development) and MLA from Keshpur Assembly Constituency, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal.
Today, the soil of Bengal spoke. At Tarakeswar, Kalna, Monteswar, and Bardhaman Dakshin, I spent time with my people. The warmth I received, the voices that rose in unison, the faces full of resolve, I carry all of it within me. This is not merely an election. This is Bengal's answer to those who wish to divide us, diminish us, and dictate to us from afar.
The people of this state have never surrendered their dignity. They will not begin now. In this Bengal of harmony, of syncretic culture, of centuries of coexistence, the politics of fear and hatred has no ground to stand on. The Bangla-Birodhi forces may conspire. But Maa-Mati-Manush will prevail.
I appeal to every son and daughter of this soil to protect Bengal's language, protect Bengal's culture, protect Bengal's future. Cast your precious vote for Ramendu Singha Roy from Tarakeswar, Becharam Manna from Singur, Dr. Karabi Manna from Haripal, Deboprasad Bag from Kalna, Swapan Debnath from Purbasthali Dakshin, Rabindranath Chatterjee from Katwa, Siddiqullah Chowdhury from Monteswar, Apurba Chowdhury (Achal) from Mangalkot, Rasbihari Halder from Memari, Khokon Das from Bardhaman Dakshin, and every Maa-Mati-Manush candidate standing in this election.
Bengal's democratic spirit is unbreakable. Let us vote to keep it that way.
It is deeply unfortunate that the Prime Minister chose to mislead the nation rather than address it honestly.
Let me put this on record. Trinamool Congress has always championed higher political representation for women. We have the highest proportion of female elected representatives in both Parliament and the State Legislature. In the Lok Sabha, 37.9% of our elected members are women. In the Rajya Sabha, we have nominated 46% women members. The question of opposing Women's Reservation does not arise and never has.
What we are fundamentally opposed to is the Delimitation exercise that the Modi Government was plotting to push through by using women as a shield for its vested political agenda. What we are fundamentally opposed to is the altering of Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution, the division of this nation and the usurpation of power through gerrymandering, by redrawing political contours to hand greater representation to BJP-ruled states at the expense of others. This is an assault on federal democracy. And we will not watch it happen in silence.
If this government was genuinely serious about this noble cause, why did it wait nearly three years after the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill on September 28, 2023? Why rush it through when several states are in election? And why couple it with Delimitation? Trinamool Congress has stood for women for decades. We will continue to. But we will not be lectured on a subject that the ruling dispensation neither understands nor respects.
And Mr. Prime Minister, the next time you address the nation, have the courage to do so from the Floor of Parliament, where you are subject to scrutiny, challenge and accountability. What you did yesterday was cowardly, hypocritical and fork-tongued. You can feel power slipping through your fingers. And you are prepared to go to any extent to hold on for just a little while longer.
That is all this was.
Janasabhas at Cooch Behar Uttar, Cooch Behar Dakshin, Dum Dum, Dum Dum Uttar, and roadshow at Durgapur Paschim were a luminous expression of people's boundless faith in a politics that is of the people, by the people, and for the people. In every face, in every pair of eyes, was written a steely conviction and an indomitable resolve to protect the Bengal we have built together and secure the future we deserve.
Bengal has always been a symbol of peace, unity, and harmony. There is no place for hatred, division, or conspiracy on this soil. There never has been. And no matter how much misinformation is unleashed or confusion manufactured, the people of Bengal will always choose development over destruction, progress over propaganda.
Setting aside every distinction of caste, creed, and religion, I appeal to each and every one of my mothers, brothers, and sisters to vote for the Joraphool and secure a massive, historic victory for Partha Pratim Roy from Cooch Behar Uttar, Sablu Barman from Mathabhanga, Sailen Barma from Natabari, Shib Sankar Paul from Tufanganj, Avijit De Bhowmick from Cooch Behar Dakshin, Harihar Das from Sitalkuchi, Kavi Dutta from Durgapur Paschim, Bratya Basu from Dum Dum, Chandrima Bhattacharya from Dum Dum Uttar, and every Maa-Mati-Manush candidate across Bengal.
Together, we will keep Bengal's unity and culture intact. Together, we will prevail.
Those who were once banished from their own home state and declared ‘tadipar’ are now coming to Bengal and openly threatening our people to stay indoors on 23rd and 29th. Following their leader’s cue, BJP’s লেঠেল বাহিনী is going door-to-door, terrorising ordinary citizens and threatening Trinamool Congress workers.
It has come to my notice that these goondas barged into the residence of a Trinamool Congress supporter in Sabang, Sathi Gorai Kuila, and abused and intimidated her in the presence of her two-year-old daughter. BJP, drunk on arrogance, seems to believe that bullets and terror can achieve what ballots cannot.
But Bengal has the perfect antidote. And that antidote will be administered democratically, by the people themselves. I openly challenge the Bangla-Birodhi Bohiragotos to be here, in Bengal, on the 4th of May, when that happens. There will be Rabindrasangeet. There will be DJ music. Make sure you don’t miss it.
From my days in student politics to three terms as Chief Minister, I have walked every step of this journey with the people. That has never changed. It never will. There is no greater joy in my life than being among my Maa, Mati, Manush. You are my greatest asset. The inspiration behind everything I do and every battle I fight.
As long as I stand, I will not allow the Bangla-Birodhi Zamindars to inflict misery or suffering on the people of this land. I will fight to protect Bengal, safeguard the rights of those I am elected to serve, secure the future of this beautiful state, and preserve our secular fabric and inclusive ethos against every force that seeks to tear it apart. But I need you beside me, as you have always been.
Place your trust in the Joraphool and secure a resounding victory for Sablu Barman from Mathabhanga, Harihar Das from Sitalkuchi, Avijit De Bhowmick (Hippy) from Cooch Behar Dakshin, Suman Kanjilal from Alipurduar, Birendra Bara from Kalchini, Rajeev Tirkey from Kumargram, Subhash Chandra Roy from Falakata, Jayprakash Toppo from Madarihat, Udayan Guha from Dinhata, Sangita Roy Basunia from Sitai, and every Maa-Mati-Manush candidate across Bengal.
Today, I offered my prayers at the revered Madan Mohan Temple in Cooch Behar.
I sought the Almighty’s blessings for the well-being of the Maa-Mati-Manush of Bengal, for peace, prosperity, and unity to prevail across our land.
I prayed for the strength to continue our fight for the rights and dignity of every individual, and for the resolve to protect the harmony that defines our state.
May we remain united in purpose, guided by compassion and justice, and continue to move forward together with strength and faith.
The fallout from the defeat of the Delimitation Bill in the Lok Sabha is exposing the BJP’s discomfort for all to see.
The Women’s Reservation Act guaranteeing 33 % reservation for women has been in force since 16 April 2026. It was passed unanimously in September 2023.
If the NDA government is serious, it should immediately bring forward the bill to notify one third of the seats. DO IT NOW!
@AITCofficial has not just supported this in principle but exceeded it in reality, with over 41 % women’s representation in Parliament.
The Constitutional 131st Amendment Bill 2026 has been rejected by INDIA. The attempt to expand the Lok Sabha to 850 seats and push delimitation based on the 2011 Census raised serious concerns about fairness and balance.
The NDA government is clearly on borrowed time and the illusion of control is beginning to crumble in plain sight!
I spent the first day of the Bengali New Year, Poila Boishakh, in the most meaningful way possible, among the people, walking with them, sharing their smiles and their strength. This is where I draw my purpose from. Since taking office in 2011, my singular commitment has been to serve my mothers, brothers, and sisters of Bengal, to ensure that their aspirations are heard, respected, and fulfilled. That is the promise I have lived by every single day.
But today, it pains me deeply to see the suffering and humiliation being inflicted upon them by Bangla-Birodhi BJP. Their existence is being questioned, their constitutional rights are under threat, and in BJP-ruled states, people are being tortured and tormented. They want to impose uniformity by erasing our language, our culture, our food habits, and our diversity. They believe Bengal can be controlled from Delhi and Gujarat. They are mistaken. Bengal will never bow.
It is our collective duty to ensure that Bengal remains in the hands of those who respect our Maa, protect our Mati, and stand with our Manush. I appeal to each one of you to place your trust in us once again. Support our candidates, Mosaraf Hussain from Itahar, Md. Ghulam Rabbani from Goalpokhar, Minhajul Arfin Azad from Chakulia, Krishna Kalyani from Raiganj, Satyajit Barman from Hemtabad, Nitai Baishya from Kaliaganj, Hamidul Rahaman from Chopra, Kanaia Lal Aggarwal from Islampur, Goutam Deb from Siliguri, Sanjay Kujur from Nagrakata, and all our Joraphool candidates across Bengal.
Let your vote protect Bengal’s identity. Let your vote defend its dignity. Let your vote strengthen the path of Maa-Mati-Manush.
Heartiest congratulations to all my dear students who have successfully cleared the CBSE examination this year. May your future endeavours be filled with even greater achievements.
A special 'thank you' note and heartfelt wishes to the parents/ guardians and teachers who have been behind your achievements.
To those who experienced setbacks, please don't be discouraged – I am sure and confident about your future success.
My blessings and best wishes are always with all of you.
Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, and Howrah have filled me with a strength that no adversity can diminish. Your love is the reason I fight. Your blessings are the armour I carry into every battle.
Bangla-Birodhi, Samvidhan-Birodhi forces are working to undo everything Babasaheb gave his life to build. The equality of vote, the freedom of conscience, the dignity of the marginalised, all of it targeted, all of it threatened by those who seek to torment the vulnerable, exploit the weak, and persecute the innocent. I will not allow their darkness to fall over Bengal. As long as the Constitution lights the path we walk, the people of Bengal will eat what they choose, wear what they choose, speak the language they love, worship as they believe, and love who they love. These are not privileges. They are rights. And they will be protected.
I call upon every voter to stand with us in this fight and cast their precious vote on the Joraphool symbol, securing a massive victory for Shri Manas Ranjan Bhunia from Sabang, Shri Ajit Maity from Pingla, Shri Dipendra Narayan Roy from Tamluk, Shri Subir Chatterjee from Jagatballavpur, Shri Tapas Maity from Domjur, Shri Arup Roy from Howrah Madhya, Shri Goutam Chowdhury from Howrah Uttar, Shri Samir Kumar Panja from Udaynarayanpur, Shri Kailash Mishra from Bally, Shri Snehasis Chakraborty from Jangipara, and every Maa-Mati-Manush candidate across Bengal.
If you think Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, or Yogi Adityanath are BJP’s trump cards in Bengal, you are sorely mistaken. The real trump card fighting for BJP from the shadows is the Chief Election Commission. BJP calls the shots, and the Election Commission obediently follows orders.
Hundreds of companies of Central Forces, who would be far more useful in Pahalgam, Delhi, Manipur, or Noida, have been deployed in Bengal. Now they have been specifically instructed to single out Trinamool Congress protectees, including my own family.
Do whatever you want. Target whoever you want. But remember that your stay in Bengal is limited to exactly 19 days. Those Gujarat babus who are threatening our party workers to stay indoors today won’t be seen in Bengal even for an hour after the results are declared.
That’s not a threat. That’s a CHALLENGE.
On Poila Boishakh, I offered my prayers at Kalighat, seeking strength, clarity, and resolve for the path ahead. In the divine presence of Maa Kali, I prayed not just for personal strength, but for the well-being of every citizen of Bengal, for peace, dignity, and unity to prevail across our land. This sacred moment is a reminder that our journey is not merely political; it is a responsibility towards protecting harmony, upholding justice, and safeguarding the rights of our people.
There are forces that seek to disturb this balance, to divide and weaken the social fabric of Bengal. But with the blessings of Maa Kali, and with faith in the people, we will stand firm against every such attempt. We will not allow hatred to overshadow harmony, nor vested interests to derail Bengal’s progress.
This is a fight for truth. A fight for the rights and dignity of every Bengali. A fight to ensure that the future of our state remains secure, inclusive, and just. With Maa Kali’s blessings guiding us, we will continue this journey with even greater determination and strength.
Joy Maa Kali!
