Yes, Vinicius scored. Goals are important. Nobody is denying that. But football is ninety minutes, not one moment. Outside of the goal, I thought Bouaddi had a much bigger impact on the game.

I'm not saying Vinicius was poor. Far from it. But if we're being honest about what happened on that pitch, Bouaddi was the player people were talking about long before the final whistle.

And that's why this decision will create debate. Because sometimes the Man of the Match award goes to the biggest moment. Tonight, I think it should have gone to the biggest performance.”
