@grumpyprg@blitzclone I think it's not about writing or not writing tests, but about the philosophy that unit tests should test only a unit, and thus not require sudo.
In Rust `cargo test` runs both unit & integration tests, so I guess that's what contributed to conflate them in this specific case.
@blitzclone Yeah, device emulation is easier to unit test. But people will always chose the path of least resistance. Writing good unit tests is hard, and I don't see a lot of people in our industry being interested in this. So yeah, it is worth it, but it comes with a steep learning curve.
@_oaana_ A healthy country is one where rich people take public transportation because it is the most convenient option. But mentality is hard to change, especially if you were not exposed to something other than your home.
You can now use the rust-vmm FDT writer with no_std thanks to a contribution coming from the community π.
It's always nice a couple of lines of code significantly improving the usefulness of a crate.

Thanks @OSTIFofficial and @X41Sec for the security review of rust-vmm!
Setting up the project with security in mind took a significant investment, but we think in the end it paid off. Thanks for recognizing our efforts and writing such kind words β€οΈ
No muss no fuss with RustVMM- thanks to the team at @X41Sec, a security audit was undertaken with funding by @awscloud. Just click the link to get the details- https://t.co/NNGOQhBkNW
Yesterday I participated at a career development talk with an inspiring woman. Part of the advice was great, but the other part of it read to me like: be rich, go to Hardvard, hire a house keeper.
Do you know some atypical successful people? I am looking for inspiration.
On x86, the stack grows βdownβ towards lower addresses. However, this is only true in the northern hemisphere due to the Coriolis effect. In Australia, the stack grows up actually. Thatβs because they are all looking at their monitors upside down to avoid falling off the planet.
@epetre1@blitzclone You can ask for a raise, this is not about that. Punishing people for not being able to negotiate their salary is simply NOT OK. Know your privilege, it's not "socially acceptable" for all groups of people to negotiate their salary.
@phip1611 I only refused to look into it because wherever we were going, @blitzclone wouldn't shut up about it. It was sort of the worst kind of a payback.
