@Rivian you just randomly raised the price on a car that we pre-ordered in 2019!! You promised a specific price, and now your team is reneging on that price, claiming that moving to a new system requires us to pay a higher price.
What gives?
@CozyEarth I received a notification that an order I made was delivered, when in fact it was not. I tried contacting your customer support email, but have not heard back. Could I please get help?
"I write separately to offer an originalist defense of the colorblind Constitution..." says Clarence Thomas, who apparently seems to ignore this thing called slavery and the 3/5ths clause in Article One, Section Two of the Constitution.
Please let’s stop the “both sides” arguments. The party that controls the House cannot get its own caucus behind common sense actions.

This is all to true, for a variety of reasons I think. The biggest reason though in my opinion is that the entire US health system is built around billing codes and not positive health outcomes.
Until that changes, nothing else will.
This is at the heart of so much that is wrong with the US public health system - or lack thereof
Medicine is not itself public health
But good public health makes medicine less necessary overall
It’s been backwards for too long
The abysmal response to COVID was just a symptom
Less competition is bad. There are other problems with this trend, but I think starting with agreeing on that might be a way to think about fixing the issue of astronomical medical costs without the benefit of better health outcomes:

People aren’t walking health conditions (or billing codes). They are people with a range of needs. Time to start building systems in a way that recognizes that
This chart is symptomatic of a fundamental problem in health financing. As long as we’re so focused on disease specific financing, we undermine countries’ ability to prepare for the challenges of today. @IHME_UW#climate#preparedness#PHC
