Following Rana scandal, I commissioned a review of the published summary of her thesis yesterday. The findings arrived today. After reading them, it’s clear that she neither meets the standards expected of a doctoral candidate nor is she fit to hold a lecturer position at MNU.
Total 3 pages.
Major flaws:
1. Relies on non-probability convenience sampling, which limits generalisability.
2. Fails to use interaction terms in testing the moderating effect, invalidating the claimed model.
3. Misinterprets hypothesis testing. She suggests accepting the alternative hypothesis when p > 0.05 (which is incorrect).
4. Constructs like “revisit intention” and “social media marketing” have poor validity (AVE < 0.5).
5. Hypotheses are vague, overly broad and combine unrelated variables.
6. Uses non academic sources like Quora to support claims.
7. Her writing contradicts itself, reports a positive correlation (r = 0.527) but later discusses negative regression.
8. Misuses research concepts like “mediating effect” and “moderating influence” without methodological support.
9. Claims research novelty that is contradicted by its own cited references.
10. Multiple references are incomplete, duplicated, or formatted incorrectly.
11. Many language issues too.
