@donedgley1@douglas_warden@DanNeidle I agree unfortunately.
Obviously by the scope of the inquiry and the continued involvement on HMRC shows that they never had the slightest intention to do anything.
Rachel Reeves told an outright lie, no different from the Tories.
And they wonder why they are so unpopular…
Too little too late - 10 people have taken their lives because @HMRCgovuk failed to act during the early 2000's. That is 10 families who have lost loved ones because of a failure to implement known directives #LoanChargeScandal
@nobigfish@sussexlc@HMRCgovuk@jamesmurray_ldn Being that HMRC say the schemes never worked , there must have been clear characteristics that would have made the job of registering or not pretty simple 🤷♀️
@sussexlc@Woftam5@HMRCgovuk 🤔 who brought in DOTAS? Wasn't that Ray McCann, when at HMRC, the very person @jamesmurray_ldn chose to head up the "independent" #LoanChargeScandal review. What a farce.
This Tweet will date quickly as I'm sure he will be Sir Ray McCann very soon, that's how it always works.
@Woftam5@sussexlc@HMRCgovuk@jamesmurray_ldn Why stick a section on the SATR for a DOTAS reference but not add any text stating that in no way is this approval of the scheme and you should leave ASAP? That was just negligent by HMRC, 10 suicides as a result of the following cover up of HMRC incompetence. #LoanChargeScandal
@ContractorCalc@BBCBreakfast More of a shared responsibility, but Stride was certainly the ministerial poster-boy for the #LoanCharge, until things got too hot with related Westminster debates, and investigations. He dodged those and left others to take the heat.
@patrickxrbaker@MelJStride@politico Mel Stride and 'the future of the Tory Party' should not appear in the same sentence. He really doesn't represent any part of its future, but harks back to echoes of The Nasty Party. People have longer memories than greasy pole climbers think (no matter how many Stride blocks).
@sussexlc@rexgold@Conservatives You couldn't trust Tories to repeal #IR35 and #LoanCharge, even if they promised to, while in Opposition. Remember their flip-flop with #IR35 and #Off-Payroll? Once in power, Tories dance to the tune of HMT and HMRC, just as Labour are doing.
@GBNEWS@suemitton1 Perhaps Stride's dad's firm should be looked into for making money out of insuring people for tax avoidance investigations. This, while he was Finance Secretary and pushing the #LoanCharge retro-tax in his day job. Then, as the suicides started, he hid from LC investigations...
@jamesmurray_ldn "We have zero tolerance for tax fraud" - @jamesmurray_ldn. So one of @UKLabour Govt's first moves is to EXCLUDE scrutiny of resource supply chain - including loan promoters, umbrella cos, recruiters, accountants and other enablers from scope of @Ray_McCann55's #LoanCharge Review
