One time I drove from home to Walmart, got the milk from the back of the store, and drove home in 7 minutes. The store is 3 minutes away.
The laws of physics barely allows for this, but the inconvenience of bad systems set up for other people all over society makes this nigh impossible.
Most trips are 30 minutes minimum, whether it be due to overparking, or a customer holding up a line, or slow people walking in front of you, or a combination of any number of inconveniences that happen at the store and on the roads.
But its possible to find the exact gap in the pattern and be the one person for whom everything is working out.
These blissful and fleeting moments in efficiency would be the average experience in a world of truly free markets, if not everywhere, then at least for all the people who would want to live there.
@colonelkurtz99 Because the human infant has the capacity to become a rational creature, which is the only creature that rights are afforded to, or make any sense to talk about at all.
Simply let people who can't get value out of the tech lose their money, and those who can will use it as a force multiplier. Its like having an employee: you can do their job, but at a cost, so it's still worth it to have someone else do it even if they're worse at it than you (you just review the work)
@killpanduh@ssolarism You must learn a character that can go over the top, I've never been held for more than a single team fight on this map going right side as junkrat and shooting them from the back. Dva works well for left side or taking archway room.
@Noahpinion Gooning and edging 24/7 is mainstream now. The new perverted taboo subculture is admitting sometimes you aren't horny and your conversation isn't foreplay.
Reason being separated from reality does not necessarily produce "if everyone would just" but properly understanding both prevents you from making that mistake. My system isn't hard to produce, everyone i interact with does "just" all the time, and when I meet someone who doesn't, I can stop interacting with them, simple as.
@p3x1967@RockChartrand@BernieSanders Every sentence you string together is based on the hard work of everyone before you who invented English.
Luckily you wouldn't have to pay Aristotle's estate any fees even under your unworkable "copyright laws" because you haven't learned to copy logic.
@sibareboolayJr@gofishh77 Some poor parents have found shaking the baby shuts it up pretty well too. I'm fascinated by your culture. Do you also break their fingers with a wooden spoon when they pull pranks on you?
@TheHungerer@ascendingpoised@Mericamemed "...one guy go buy all the discounted products he can just so he can resell them to other people..."
That is literally what the bulk department store is doing. The manufacturers could donate them just the same as the scalpers could...they shouldn't though, and nor should they.
If we agree to make a trade where I owe you $5 and you hold your hand out for the cash and I accidentally drop my whole wallet into your hand, and ask for it back, are you justified in keeping it?
The minimum wage employees understand the law better here.
@CeranMathis@LibertytwtC This is well written rhetoric, but reason and reality go hand in hand. You can only address reality properly through reason, else you hand perception of reality over to faith in another (authority figure or higher power, the outcome is the same - you aren't thinking)
@CeranMathis@LibertytwtC There's some value to be had in the social element, but not the kind of value that gets one closer to truth — just more propagation of the debate.
