@DoomerTapes@Michaeldudufudu Historically taking care of one's appearance was about showcasing status, wealth and power, not femininity.
Focusing too much on appearance was considered to be vain, not feminine.
The Romans, the Vikings, Egyptians, Native Americans, Japanese, everybody did.
@DoomerTapes@Michaeldudufudu It depends on the culture. In Asian cultures, taking care of your appearance was and still is genderless. Even aristocrats in the west wore makeup.
It really went away in the west due to inter class hatred of the wealthy, and intense Christian puritanism in the Americas.
@TheJH1015@ShadowMario83N@nyacula_ But with your magical one way insulation, does it not permit 20th century technology known as AC?
Well, until you guys enter the 21st century.
@TheJH1015@ShadowMario83N@nyacula_ "buildings are made to keep heat inside so there's no cooling it down"
You guys invented a magical one directional insulation? You need to share this with the world? How? Is this using some quantum gravity device?
@Rothmus This has historical similarities to the romantic view of Tuberculosis. Many considered it the poet's disease, they thought the pale and skinny look was attractive.
Many actively got it for those reasons. Same mental illness, different time.
