This year, Frappe recorded decent profits for the first time. We were wondering about how to tastefully invest this money in our future. Our investments in FOSS so far didn't go back to people we directly benefited from, so Ankush from our team proposed donating a small sum to our dependencies.

My unhinged take on this is - religious division.

If there is a deep separation between society, horizontal and vertical, we never end up cooperating at scale. Every faction for themselves. That's why we can't have nice things. One can never see the other happy.

It used to be a national project to build a unified India. Where is that project? I miss it. We used to have 'mile sur mera tumhara'. Where it went?

And building a strong nation, stronger than religious identity should actually be the goal. So that we all can enjoy. If we start fighting amongst ourselves then how this good for anyone?

The thing that dooms India is how far away beauty is for almost every one who lives in our cities. A population with no conception of beauty - what will it do?

India has stopped making songs. The last good songs are from 10 years ago. There used to be a film a week. We used to be alive.

This is what education is for - so that we can have more beauty in our lives. I want everyone to be educated to a high level for free because that is the cheapest way to build a beautiful society.

What we deny others is what we deny ourselves.

Women have typically been "glamourised" and casual harassment by men "glorified" as courtship.
