خاتم النبین حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی چار (4) صاحبزادیاں تھیں۔

1- حضرت زینب رضی اللہ عنہا: یہ آپ ﷺ کی سب سے بڑی صاحبزادی تھیں، ان کا نکاح ابوالعاص بن ربیع سے ہوا تھا۔

2۔ حضرت رقیہ رضی اللہ عنہا: یہ آپ ﷺ کی دوسری صاحبزادی تھیں۔ان کا نکاح حضرت عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ سے ہوا اور انہوں نے حبشہ کی طرف ہجرت کی تھی۔

3۔ حضرت ام کلثوم رضی اللہ عنہا: یہ آپ ﷺ کی تیسری صاحبزادی تھیں،حضرت رقیہؓ کی وفات کے بعد ان کا نکاح بھی حضرت عثمان بن عفانؓ سے ہوا تھا۔

4۔ حضرت فاطمہ زہرا رضی اللہ عنہا: یہ آپ ﷺ کی سب سے چھوٹی اور لاڈلی صاحبزادی تھیں،ان کا نکاح حضرت علی بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ عنہ سے ہوا۔

اسلامی تاریخ اور روایات کے مطابق، سن 35 ہجری میں شہادت کے بعد حضرت عثمان غنیؓ کو مدینہ منورہ کے مشہور قبرستان 'جنت البقیع' کے بالکل متصل ایک باغ میں دفن کیا گیا تھا جسے "حشِ کوکب" کہا جاتا تھا۔

خلافتِ راشدہ کے بعد، اموی دورِ حکومت میں جب مدینہ منورہ کے گورنر مروان بن الحکم نے جنت البقیع کی حدود کو وسیع کیا، تو اس باغ کو بقیع کے اندر شامل کر لیا گیا، اسی وجہ سے آج یہ مقام جنت البقیع کے آخری حصے میں واقع ہے۔

بقیع الغرقد میں موجود تمام صحابہ کرام، اہل بیتِ اطہار اور امہات المؤمنین کی قبور کو پکی تعمیرات، مزارات یا نام کی تختیوں سے پاک رکھا گیا ہے۔

قبرِ مبارک پر پتھر بطور نشانی موجود ہیں، جو کہ قرونِ اولیٰ کی اسلامی سادگی کی عکاسی کرتے ہیں۔

بقیع کے آخری حصے میں ایک چبوترے اور حفاظتی جنگلے کے اندر یہ مبارک مقام دیکھا جا سکتا ہے۔ سعودی وزارتِ امورِ اسلامیہ کی جانب سے وہاں ایک نیلا معلوماتی بورڈ بھی نصب ہے جو زائرین کو مسنون طریقے سے سلام پیش کرنے اور بدعات سے بچنے کی ہدایت کرتا ہے۔
