On a recent @joerogan episode, @ComicDaveSmith talked about misinformation on Iran, but ended up spreading several misleading and one-sided claims. As an Iranian, I fact-checked just 3 minutes of what he said and it was already disappointing. Here’s a breakdown 🧵
@chico_dust_@USASpoonster@SydneyLWatson I agree that some poeple who think to be Muslims don't wear hijab. They're simply not real Muslims if you ask a mullah/clergyman in the KSA, etc.
One can't modify Islam to suit their needs, it has to be taken as is.
Question for those who think Trump will TACO on Iran: what exactly does that look like? Declare victory and pull out? Then what?
Iran walks away with de facto control over the Strait of Hormuz — the world’s most important energy chokepoint. That is not peace. That is Tehran holding a veto over the global economy.
They would have the power to disrupt flows, keep oil prices elevated, punish the West, and extract concessions. And once you TACO under those conditions, the risk of a wider regional war probably goes up, not down, because Iran’s neighbors will not accept that new reality.
If you want markets to recover and crude to settle down, the answer is not a face-saving exit. It is taking away Iran’s ability to coerce traffic through Hormuz. Until that changes, the risk premium stays.
@14traderO@Ksidiii ... ability to threaten various targets in the region (e.g. the strait, gas fields, etc.). Once you neutralize that, they're done for, and that's exactly what the US and Israel are doing.
@14traderO@Ksidiii Look, I'm an Iranian. I know the regime and their thinking better than most foreigners. When you hear they're just a wildly violent death cult and require group, it's not an exaggeration. Plus, they're supreme in their incompetence. The only thing they have going for them is...
@chico_dust_@USASpoonster@SydneyLWatson Wrong. It is explicit in the teachings of Muhammad and his behavior (plus the behavior of Muslims like, ever and always). I know you wish it were that way, but the fact is Islam is very strict in this regard.
@Ksidiii .. against the tyrannical regime of IR. the mainstream media is lying to your faces, people. Follow some respected OSINT accounts to get a better idea of what's going on in Iran.
@Ksidiii The commenters are pathetically misinformed. No F35 has been shot down, one was slightly damaged and landed safely. No THAAD batteries have been lost. Iran has lost most of its senior leadership, and the majority of Iranians support the war because it's their only chance.. /1
@Dr_NEOphyte@Travis_Kling That's the thing. Western (or Eastern) opinions don't matter when we have the explicit text of Quran, as well as the behavior of Muhammad himself and the muslims for about 1500 years to corroborate what I said.
@Dr_NEOphyte@Travis_Kling There's no context. Quran is explicitly stated to be valid for all time. It also explicitly claims that it's been sent down in simple and understandable terms so that it won't need interpretation. It's supposed to be take at face value, by its own words.
@sungleeiq Dude. Iran has 90M who support this attack. It is nothing like Afghanistan, whose people supported the Taliban. Your understanding of the situation is meager.
@TheShortBear Iranian here. Dude, your understanding of the IR is minimal, and I don't mean this in an unkind way. The IRGC and the clergy ARE the state. They make ALL the important decisions. President's office is a farce to keep the image of democracy. Hard- vs soft-liners is a myth!!
@TheShortBear A short while after this, IRGC attacked again, and issued a statement saying that the president made a "mistake". I'm the Islamic Republic, the president's office does not have any real power over the military or foreign policy. It never has.
