@BethMooreLPM I’m taking a class at Duke Divinity on Old Testament wisdom and had to do a 20 page exegetical paper on Job - just on 1:13-22. It was the hardest and most rewarding experiences of my life. Just that passage alone - so much insight.

@BethMooreLPM It’s so interesting that you are posting this- I’m currently working on an article about the lack of repentance that we see in our denominations (I’m from the AG) and why we need to do better. These are important conversations to have.

@ZachWLambert For people commenting that they are glad, think about people like us- I’m a current grad student, raising three kids and trying to get a better job someday while my husband is also working. We receive WIC and SNAP. Many people who receive these funds are hardworking families.

@DouthatNYT @aaron_renn Also there just isn’t any funding anywhere really for our own denominations or scholarships. When I apply there are specific opportunities for mainline students but never within my own tradition. It’s a shame since we should have more educational opportunities and scholarships.

@DouthatNYT @aaron_renn That’s why for example a lot of non PCUSA students go to seminaries like Princeton seminary because they have the best funding and scholarships, even though I’m a conservative evangelical. A lot of us take the opportunity, which but then we go back to our own contexts.

@ZachWLambert For example, I try to have open conversations with people who don’t believe that women should be pastors, even though I am one. If I don’t engage with them, how will I ever have the chance for them to see mutuality and opportunities for possible heart change on these topics?
