Earlier this year, President Dallin H. Oaks repeated the warning issued by President Russell M. Nelson from general conference in April 2018:

“In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.”

What do you do to rivet your attention, to assure that you survive spiritually by having the constant influence of the Holy Ghost?

You look carefully at your daily activities. Am I praying? Am I thoughtfully partaking of the sacrament? What am I putting into my mind? Am I associating with others who seek the constant influence of the Holy Ghost? What could be my distractions, my obstacles, or my deceptions?

I invite you to pray for inspiration and courage to make any changes you need to make.

Yesterday, June 27, was the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum—the day they sealed their testimonies of Jesus Christ and the Restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1844.  

We remember this day with solemnity—but we also rejoice in the June 27, 2002 dedication of the Nauvoo Illinois Temple. And, yesterday June 27, 2026, was the day the Nauvoo Temple Visitors’ Center and Brigham and Mary Ann Young home were dedicated.  

What was revealed here in Nauvoo continues to bless Heavenly Father’s children everywhere. The new Nauvoo Temple Visitors’ Center will help visitors gain a deeper appreciation for sacred temple covenants and ordinances restored by the Lord to Joseph Smith here in Nauvoo and offered in temples worldwide today.

With recent deliveries to Hawaii and Alaska, all 50 U.S. states have now received at least one truckload of food from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as part of its nationwide effort to distribute 250 truckloads to commemorate the United States' 250th anniversary.

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland delivered the best explanation of how The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints deviates from traditional Christianity and returns to the doctrine taught by Jesus Christ himself.

“If one says we are not Christians because we do not hold a fourth- or fifth-century view of the Godhead, then what of those first Christian Saints, many of whom were eyewitnesses of the living Christ, who did not hold such a view either?”

Enduring to the end is linked inextricably to the spiritual gift of charity. Enduring to the end is not merely a relentless determination to grit our teeth, hold on to the limits of our physical strength and mental capacity, and push through the challenges and adversities of mortal life; it is so much more than that.

Enduring to the end is the joyous quest of a lifetime—a pressing forward with faith in Jesus Christ in a gradual process of trusting in and receiving help from our Savior to become more like Him. As our love for Him grows ever stronger and deeper, we can be blessed to receive spiritual perspective, the Lord’s empowering grace, and exceedingly great and indescribable joy.

What your children really want for dinner is you!

In an age of constant online connection, we may need to disconnect from technologies and other distractions to truly reconnect with our families.

Families grow stronger when they set aside these distractions and spend meaningful time together—learning eternal values like the importance of marriage and children, the purpose of life, and the true source of joy.

Parents also have a duty to teach their children practical knowledge apart from gospel principles. Families unite when they do meaningful things together. Happy family experiences strengthen family ties. Camping, sports activities, and other recreation are especially valuable for bonding families.

Some may say, “But we have no time for any of that.” To find time to do what is truly worthwhile, many parents will find that they can turn their families on if they all turn their technologies off.

What those we love need most is simply time with us. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is our ultimate role model. He will help us as we strive to build these family bonds.

As mortal beings, we are in absolute and never-ending need of Heavenly Father’s and the Savior’s help to realize our eternal destiny.

The literal resurrection of Jesus is, of course, the subject of so many scriptures that it is settled doctrine for believers of the Bible and Book of Mormon. For us, the universal resurrection is equally certain.

I wonder if we fully appreciate the enormous significance of our belief in a literal, universal resurrection. The conviction that death is not the conclusion of our identity changes the whole perspective of our mortal life.

It affects how we look on the physical challenges of mortality. It gives us the strength and perspective to endure the mortal challenges faced by each of us and by those we love.

It signifies that mortal deficiencies are only temporary! It also gives us the courage to face our own death or that of loved ones—even deaths we might call premature.

Our belief in the resurrection also encourages us to fulfill our family responsibilities in mortality. It helps us live together in love in this life in anticipation of joyful reunions and associations in the next.

During the Saturday morning session of the April 2026 general conference, Latter-day Saints participated in a solemn assembly. They sustained President Dallin H. Oaks as prophet, seer, and revelator, along with the other members of the First Presidency, the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and other senior leaders in their respective roles.

“I express our gratitude as leaders of the Church for our members’ sustaining vote, prayers, and support,” President @OaksDallinH said at the beginning of the session. “We also pray for you to be guided and prospered as you continue the great service you give to the children of God throughout the world.”

Millions of people worldwide will gather April 4–5, 2026, for the 196th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Because this year’s conference falls on Easter Sunday, many of the messages will naturally center on the heart of Easter itself — the literal Resurrection of Jesus Christ, His infinite Atonement, His triumph over death, and the hope, renewal, and peace that come through Him. Even active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may sometimes have concerns about some historical, doctrinal, or social issues connected with the Church. I want to help all our members overcome present or future doubts.

Whatever those doubts, the way to overcome them is to get closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. Again and again, He has taught us that He is the way.

In a speech on Tuesday at Brigham Young University (@BYU) — his first public address as President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — Dallin H. Oaks (@OaksDallinH) shared four ways to come closer to Jesus Christ.

1. Strengthen our faith in Him.
2. Increase our humility.
3. Seek help from others.
4. Be patient.

“Whatever [your] doubts,” he said, "the way to overcome them is to get closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. Again and again, He has taught us that He is the way.”
