Ye to waqai Manto nahi hey Ladli...
Here is my finale episode of drama #mainmantonahihoon
The Manto reference remains vague but what I hoped to achieve from this series was pure laughter and fun.
Thank you for the encouragement. I hope to continue creating engaging content.

It's so much easier to express through songs. And cathartic in so many ways.
Here's my favourite anthem from the fab film #zindagitamasha

20 years today.
And it feels like I've flown millions of miles away from you. From the motia flowers that grew on your grave. That abbu watered for many years. That gave me a sense of peace that you were in a fragrant place.
Places. Addresses. Homes. We've shared many. We continue to. With us in a happy frame. I always place you on the top shelf. Just the thought of you watching from above feels real.
I can not imagine my home without you. Yet here I am. A new continent, country, and a complete new life. I don't know if you can sense my loss, but it is indescribable.
I am here, but also there. You probably know how that feels already, though. To be in two places at the same time. Yet not belong to any.
I love you ammi. And I look forward to seeing you some day. In a place we could belong to. Together. ❤️
Time Frame - 1
Thought of sharing some stories from yester years.
Age 16
No makeup.
No insecurities.
No filters.
Just a very strong sense of self. At 16, I didn't know what I wanted from life, but I could clearly tell you what I didn't want from life.
I didn't want to be told when to wake up and when to sleep.
What to wear. My denim jacket was enough.
How to keep my hair. (The disaster of the bangs I tried to cut myself in this picture, too!)
How to cook. It was not on my list.
Who to befriend. I wanted to find varied influences to learn from.
I carried a million conflicts inside of me in these frames. They gave me the courage to be who I am today.

I was 13 when I first came to Dubai.
My father stepped into the city as Project Manager for what would become one of the world’s greatest success stories, Emirates Airline.
Back then, there were more dreams than buildings. And somehow, without us even realising it, Dubai became home.
Even after my parents left, it remained my safe space. And I too embraced it with all my heart.
As an educator, I taught in different schools, but with young Emiratis, I found meaning in culturally responsive teaching. They pushed me to curate programmes and strategies to support their learning. I discovered not just their potential, but also my own. We learned together.
I became my best version in these diverse classrooms where we exchanged perspectives, listened to understand and found our mutual respect.
I have witnessed the UAE's future generations thrive on the opportunities provided with new possibilities emerging every day.
It's been 40 years.
As I prepare to leave, I carry the immeasurable gifts that only a true home can give. Belonging, resilience, and the grace to begin again.

How do I let you know Ammi that the tides are changing?
How do I let you know that while you sleep silently, the world keeps turning?
And every rotation uproots me.
You need to know that while I am going with the flow, and turning with every relentless spin of this earth, the fear of you not knowing remains.
And that fear never leaves.
