🚨 The investigation into Mahudhee’s death is starting not only because of the things we have been exposing across various social media platforms.
Every single day since his passing, Mahudhee’s family, especially his father has been going outside Minister Ihusaan’s office to beg and plead for a proper investigation into this death. They are openly protesting against massive negligence, the fact that the family was completely denied access to the body after his death and several other deeply concerning issues.
The moment Mahudhee's body was brought back to Malé MNDF rushed to bury him immediately. They refused to allow a single member of the family to enter the funeral home, even rejecting his father when he begged to go inside.
Muizzu can only cover up the truth to a certain limit. There is a saying that a mother intimately knows when something bad happens to the child she carried in her womb, and that's exactly why Mahudhee's mother refused to even shake hands with Muizzu. She felt the injustice way before.
On the third day (16th May), right before going down for the third chamber dive, Mahudhee sent messages to his wife explicitly stating that it was a "50/50 dive" and that he had not been given the mandatory minimum 48-hour surface rest, but had no choice but to go because of his job. These messages are something that Muizzu can never erase or hide from.
Mahudhee had already suffered from one failed kidney and was on permanent medication for his second kidney issue. Every single medical document regarding his condition had been officially shared by Mahudhee with MNDF Human Resources. Knowing all of these facts, Muizzu cannot escape accountability.
Whether it happens today or tomorrow, it's inevitable that those within the MNDF who oppose Muizzu will break ranks and will openly turn against him.
When an entire ministry becomes completely politicized, shattering protocols and guidelines to the point where soldiers lives are being thrown away with zero regard for law or regulation, the time will inevitably come when the soldiers get completely fed up with their superiors.
Mahdhee was a brave and courageous soldier who sacrificed his life for our country. he will always be remembered as a hero.
they sent him on a dangerous mission & failed to provide even the most basic protection. it ultimately cost him his life.
it’s true we don’t get justice in this country but i will hold onto that sliver of hope that we should fight for some measure of accountability, for Mahdhee and for his grieving family & friends. we have already failed him once, it’s the least we can do now. so so heart wrenching.
#JusticeForMahdhee
People going against Shafraz need to direct their anger toward the MNDF officials and especially question the decisions made by leadership, including commander in chief Muizzu.
They reportedly dived to those depths with small tanks, leaving additional tanks at different points near the cave. The team would enter, surface, switch tanks, and go back in under extremely difficult conditions. Imagine the environment they were forced to operate in. Imagine the stress, fear, and thoughts going through their minds including thoughts about their families.
They were put into a situation many believe they should never have faced without the proper expertise, planning, or equipment.
Mahudhy deserves justice. We as a country need to stand up and demand answers. He was a soldier and questions remain about whether this tragedy could have been prevented.
There must be accountability, transparency, and a proper investigation into what happened.
impeachment is sick president!
Yes Mahudhee was found kneeling inside the second chamber with his oxygen tank completely empty and his regulator detached. And an unused reserve tank marked right near the entrance of the second chamber not even far away.
What actually happened?
This was a recovery mission planned by the MNDF to take place over 3 days, with a squad of 7 divers split across 3 days. checking the 1st chamber on day one(14 may), the 2nd chamber on day two(15 may), and the 3rd chamber on day three(16 may). Even though MNDF did not use the most proper equipment, they carried out the operation the best way possible given what was available.
On the third day, a team of 6 went to check the 3rd chamber and 5 waited in the second chamber, sending team lead diver Mahudhee all alone to check the third chamber. When Mahudhee did not return, the remaining 5 went to the surface without waiting for Mahudhee, eventhough they had an unused reserve tank with them, and claimed that Mahudhee went to the third chamber and failed to return. This triggered an emergency, because returning back down again to the second chamber to search for Mahudhee was against dive protocols and impossible for the 5 MNDF divers who had surfaced.
So they called Marine Police divers from Felidhoo, who arrived after a 25 to 30 minute speedboat ride and immediately went down to find Mahudhee, who had been underwater the entire time during that 25 to 30 minute travel window.
When they dived down into the second chamber, Mahudhee was already dead, kneeling with his regulator detached and the reserve tank untouched right by the entrance of the second chamber.
I held back from posting these specific details earlier because MNDF source requested not to do so, but now they are completely fed up with Muizzu.
Note: The changes on Mahudhee's body were not the typical post-mortem changes seen in someone who dies of decompression sickness. The reason his face was covered way more than usual during the funeral was because parts of his face were severely bruised and swollen.
▫️Mahudhee had previously suffered from decompression sickness during a recovery mission at 4kland where his dive buddy panicked. Even though he survived that time, Mahudhee surfaced without undergoing proper decompression protocols while bringing up both the recovered body and his buddy. After that incident Mahudhee did not dive at all for 6 months.
⚠️ This information was directly provided by an MNDF source.
Gareth Lock joins me on Shaff Dives You Crazy for a raw conversation about dive accidents, human error, rescue operations, and the recent Maldives tragedy. One of the most important episodes I’ve done.

Shafraz is undoubtedly one of the best and most experienced divers who has served in the Maldives National Defence Force Coast Guard. It’s upsetting to see some people trying to tarnish his image. He had been warning Coast Guard divers not to take such risks.
@ShafrazNaeem
This is what MNDF divers were wearing while diving to those depths in a search and retrieval mission inside a 200-foot-long cave below 60 meters.
How can this be justified?
How could MNDF allow this?
MENTALLY ILL PATIENT FLEES IGMH SECURED WARD
My brother (bipolar) admitted at IGMH for 3+ weeks. No proper medication available. We sourced it from abroad ourselves. Aasandha approved his treatment abroad, meaning the government officially acknowledged the care he needs does not exist here.
Staff watched him roam a LOCKED ward for 3+ hours and did nothing. He fled and is MISSING.
IGMH's response? "Contact the police yourself." Then: "Can the family look after him at home until you leave abroad?"
A man in acute psychiatric crisis. Unstabilized. Missing. This is what they offer.
He was in YOUR care. The law says so. @IGMHmv@MoHmv #IGMH #MaldivesHealthcare #MaldivesGovernment
Finns also have a proud history of going to great lengths to retrieve the bodies of deceased friends. The phrase "kaveria ei jateta" - "never leave a friend behind" - was used by Finnish soldiers, who put themselves in grave danger to recover the bodies of fallen comrades during the Winter War against the USSR in 1939-1940.

This is a crime against chapter 8 of the Constitution, which requires elected councils to administer all administrative districts of the Maldives.
When you usurp power from the people you need their consent.
Raajjethere must rise against rule from the center.
This is how the operation should have been executed from day one.
Instead Muizzu’s fragile ego and desperate urge to exhibit undeserved competence demanded nothing less than the cold blooded sacrifice of a loyal son of this nation.
Good question @miljunaid
A: From the day one itself when foreign instructor was found dead at over 60+ meters any real professional will know this was "no ordinary diving accident" it was a highly perilous situation.
MNDF’s diving capacity strictly caps at 50 meters. Standard protocol states that the absolute second an incident crosses that threshold international cave experts must be alerted for immediate assistance.
Instead of that Muizzu brushed that protocol aside and politicized the entire situation by personally visiting into the scene and he directly blocked international aid completely disregarding our operational limits.
These are the undeniable/unvarnished facts.
Hope you understand the point.
🚨 UPDATE: 100% CONFIRMED.
They didn’t just haul Mahudhee up with a safety rope. The betrayal that preceded his final breath is far more sinister and utterly heartbreaking.
After exhausting himself on day one of the operation (the exact day Muizzu staged his high-profile site visit) Mahudhee finally went to sleep at his wife's home island V. Felidhoo which is located right by the active rescue site.
But he wasn’t even allowed the dignity of a few hours of sleep before they tore him away from his rest. A direct call came from the Commander and Mahudhee was pressured back into the water under the guise of "National Interest" told that the govt desperately needed a win and that a mission of this magnitude was impossible without his unmatched expertise.
This approach happened despite Mahudhee openly raising the alarm that he had not completed his mandatory rest hours. They knew the risks, and they sent him down anyway.
Dear @MMuizzu you may hold absolute authority today, and you may think you can treat the fiercely loyal sons of this nation as expendable props for your PR campaigns.
But mark my words and never forget this:- You will never circumvent accountability, and you will find no escape in the Court of God Almighty Allah. 💯
I pray that Almighty Allah grants the late Mahudhee the status of a Shaheed and blesses him with the eternal rewards of Jannat'ul Firdaus.
Aameen yaa rabb al aalameen.
@varu_jaadi Hauled up using a rope? Do they not know the dangers of a fast ascent to the surface without doing deco stops after such deep dives? How did they not know he was missing before they came up? Why wasn't the buddy system followed? These are basic rules of diving.
