We don’t need to be positive all the time. We don’t need to be happy all the time. We don’t need to be charged up all day long.
We’re human beings, not programmed humanoids.
Our inner systems were created to deal with dualities in life; pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow positivity and negativity, inspiration and depression etc.
That’s what makes life real. That’s what helps us grow. That’s what helps us stay balanced and grounded. That’s what helps us find meaning and purpose.
So do not fall to the 24x7 positivity propaganda. The pressure to be positive all the time creates more negativity than positivity and is hence aptly termed toxic positivity.
See, I’m not against being positive at all.
Being positive is perfectly fine as long as our positivity doesn’t forcefully cancel the pain we may be going through.
Being positive is perfectly fine as long as it compliments our strength and efforts to deal with our challenges without promising to be the ONLY solution.
Being positive is perfectly fine when it comes naturally and doesn’t have to be pushed down our throats.
Be human. Be real. Be authentic.
Take life as it comes without being under the stress to deal with everything right away.
