@jdflynn@fatherandrew I feel like “walleye bites” would be a welcome respite from the fish sandwich propaganda we’ve been forced to accept as the norm.
@NAIAFootballVSN The list is Tyler Emmert, then about 5 miles of buffer, then everyone else. Let the people debate for #2, but there is really no question for #1.
@EricRSammons Exactly. Common sense goes a long way. Eric, how much do you think the problem is people seeing the Mass as their personal prayer time, and not as corporate worship? To me the whole stupid debate hinges on that Protestant idea that “Sunday worship” is my personal time with Jesus.
@fatherandrew@jdflynn@ZacharyYost I think I’ve only read Last of the Breed. What should I throw in the back pocket next? (With kids ages 6,3,1 I’m entering the era of child activities where I need to be on site but would rather read a book than scroll twitter)
@nickycantaloupe It’s clear you don’t know what ‘unequivocal’ or ‘W’ mean, nor have you studied the lectionary. Saying 3>1 is awfully reductive in this particular discussion. Most proponents of the one year cycle do not detest more scripture.
@OldHollowTree The Fellowship leaves Rivendell on Christmas Day. The ring is destroyed on the traditional date of Easter. Thus, you are correct: Fellowship is a Christmas movie and ROTK is an Easter movie.
@SteveSkojec@jdflynn Im with you 99% of the time @jdflynn, and @SteveSkojec overreacts often. But he’s right here. Most online (and otherwise) Catholics will see exactly what he saw and not the deep-dive specifics you pulled up via research. Perception=reality.
@MRibnek Best way to tell you’re dealing with an utterly unserious Catholic is when they quote the year at you.. as if you 1) Aren’t aware what year it is and 2) Think the Church’s perennial moral teaching has somehow changed thanks to their insights in the past few years.
