@ChrisCarrollMD I would say yes: if the ED attending remained suspicious enough to follow up the normal CXR with a POCUS exam because the child presented with clinical signs/symptoms of pneumonia, then I’d call it pneumonia with severity then based on vital signs & symptoms.
@E_King_MD I love a good SHx to help start shaping dispo from day 1: who they live with, who they live near, where they live, do they have stairs to navigate, occupation and ability to miss work if needed, activities they’d like to get back to
@DimpiPatel19 I always reflected on the patients or #’s I was most excited to present; the topics I loved teaching; the consulting teams I’d love to chat with
I realized I loved a lot about multiple specialties and wanted to continue to see and manage it all #HospitalMedicine
& Hearing about what a great person Lowell was and how much he cared about the program makes it all that much more of an honor! Proud to join prior recipients @jwilliamMD@AvrahamCooperMD @skorjianmd and @ccsmith269
What I’ll miss most about residency is the amount of time we have to teach and learn together, so receiving the #LowellMcGee teaching award from the interns and my co-residents meant so much 🙌🏼🙌🏼
So thankful and will bring that same spirit as an attending & educator!

My son started watching Toy Story..
We watched number 3 and it made me sad thinking about him growing up and leaving home…
Then I paused and prayed he is always safe and is able to grow up..
What a horrifying thought; can’t imagine the pain. #PrayersForUvalde
🎶 I was always excited for my kids to have similar interests as my own, but my son discovering a love of #ClassicalMusic on his own and sharing it with me has been even better 🎶

“On days where this is especially hard, reach out to a friend who can show you the kindness you aren’t able to show yourself.”
An inspiring read from a fantastic, caring person and doctor 🙌🏼🙌🏼

I would like to understand, in the “admit with Covid vs admit for Covid” debate, how one would explain the drop in our total medicine census over the last 2 weeks from “a billion busting at the seams” to “totally manageable” if all this omicron was just incidental.
