Support for Senior Cycle reform needs to be unconditional. Attaching these measures to teacher pay and conditions is reprehensible; it disrespect teachers and students. The measures do not address the concerns of the ISTA and the AACs, as they are proposed, are unworkable.

@Education_Ire get TUI to support to split from ASTI who will probably reject. Then Dept will bully ASTI members using Ireland's free media and honest journalists as their medium.

The @NCCAie committed to publishing the guidelines for the additional assessment components in the senior sciences in November. We still keenly await their publication - schools need to plan their resources for next year.

@Roismernagh @conorsmurf If Foley gets this done the only normal year students will have is in first year… 2nd year CBAs, 3rd year CBAs & terminal exams, 4th year prep for 5th year AACs and 6th year more AACs and another dollop of CAO for good measure. Where’s the well-being?

Students suffer.
Education suffers.
And in the long term society suffers.

@ciaraquill He “taught” me in a module to prepare for 2nd year placement back in 2011. His advice when asked what to do when a student swore at you? placement is only 6 weeks long a student won’t build up enough resentment towards you as a person to swear at you. Wish I was joking.

I have zero time for colleges complaining about the Leaving Cert results.
The LC is not their plaything.
The CAO is undermining second level education and will stymie any possible real reform.
Education should not be competitive.
Let them come up with an alternative.
