@san_x_m Compulsion of a Minister is to get relected every 5 yrs. They have to show change. Many honest officers are rule bound but ancient procedures do not allow change in short time. But some honest officers do deliver with 'creative' interpretation of rules. Politicians prefer them.

Amendment that is reqd: qualify to be an MP only if they have been MLA before or stood for Assembly election. For MLA only if they stood for Panchayat/ULB. Will cleanse politics by eliminating 'helicopter' politicians

@Sharanyashettyy Well...it depends on the profession you are in. Doctors, Marketing people, Chefs, Bankers etc can't have the 'unkempt' look. However individualistic trades like films, musicians, architects etc can. IT guys are the outliers - they want to look cool like the creatives.

@india_plus_ Yes...I was there last year. They had to put up shamianas to shade the walking path. Same architect who designed Sabarmathi riverfront where trees don't grow due to radiation from bare concrete.
