Salesforce is running an ad claiming 40% off to beat Zoho. We have watched this playbook for years where they give deep discounts to get you in, followed by aggressive escalation once you're locked-in.

Before you switch anything, ask them to show you standardised multi-year pricing. If they don't, that's your answer. Enterprise software is a con-game of "discount" bullshit by vendors like Salesforce. Buyer beware!

As for "old CRM", Salesforce is a garbage bin of acquired enterprise software companies over decades, held together with bubble gum and duct tape.

My favourite piece of Trivia that I learnt over the weekend was this

The root word of both Arctic and Antarctica continent names, is the Greek word Arktos which means Bear.

Arctic means the one with Bears

Antarctica is the one without Bears.

For a long while I thought it referred to the dangerous animal - bear.

And it checks out because Arctic has Bears and Antarctica doesn't.

Turns out the Arktos in the continent names actually referred, not to the animal bear, but to the Constellation Great Bear.

Arctic came from the Greek word Arktikos, which meant towards the Great Bear. Or a place from where you could see the constellation Great Bear

Antartica came from Antarktikos, or away from the Great Bear. Or a place from where you couldn't see the Great Bear.

The presence and absence of animal Bears in these continents, was purely coincidental.
