@BerduxJosh I agree with this research, anytime you are required to learn something and know that you have to be able to explain it to someone else you are more engaged. Students want to hear it from each other and not always from the teacher.
@MelissaStrelic I agree, when students ask questions often their are different answers from different points of view. This allows students to see learning from a variety of view points and helps them understand what they believe to be the answer.
@HollySchweitze3 In your class, I think students get so much information through the discussion boards because they have read, write and then respond to others in their class. The articles are about what they are facing right now.
#curiositymatters2FMSD20 A2. Asking questions that are relevant to students lives will spark curiosity. In class, when the material is correlated to what is happening in life now student engagement improves as well as learning (memory).
#curiositymatters2FMSD20 A1. When students are asking questions they are engaged in the activity and find the activity to be meaningful. As teachers we should be encouraging students to ask questions and allowing them to guide the learning process.
A1. I think that writing allows students to express what they have learned in their own words. In our classes when students are given an opportunity to write about what they have learned students feel more connected to the lessons.#FMSDwrites2learn20

@slorick3 I agree, every student learns differently. As teachers we are responsible for making sure that everyone of them are being taught to their individual style. Providing students opportunities to practice their auditory as well as their kinesthetic learning styles improves learning.
@HollySchweitze3 I agree... In the Ted talk that I watched the speaker spoke about how small children ask lots of questions. They do this because they are learning. As teachers we need to encourage curiosity because it means are students are interested and learning.
