📢⁉️Quick call out for help with terminology…
My thesis centres on issues of power and identity in what is currently labelled as ‘Personality Disorders’…
I was wondering if there were any alternative terms I could use instead so as to avoid reinforcing stigma/harm?
What I was told: You’ll walk into a Qualified role, they’re crying out for Psychologists
Reality: You’ve submitted your New Style Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) application
@Adam_Ernest97 Possibly! There’s also competition with already qualified’s, who services seem to prefer as well as budgets running dry at the end of the tax year
Hello 👋🏻
If anyone knows of any available clinical psychologist roles based in East Cheshire / Manchester / Liverpool / remote, then please let me know!
@DaniChadderton Thanks for sharing your experience! I can connect with the relational concept and can envision the benefits, so maybe it’s something about the teaching delivery
I always leave CAT teaching with a sense of unease, but I can never quite put my finger on what causes the discomfort…
Curious as to how others have experienced CAT either as provider or recipient?
Looking for experts by experience to consult on materials (interview themes/questions) for my #DClinPsy#thesis.
It will be a qualitative study (similar to this study that @krichar25 and I conducted) looking at prioritisation of waiting lists in eating disorder services.
Nevertheless, more readily available support is needed to ensure any deterioration in trainee wellbeing is addressed promptly.
Issues of discrimination against a trainee also need to be taken seriously & addressed, and more protection is needed for harmful placement experiences
Recent Reflections 💭
For the past year, the DClinPsy became all-consuming.
The constant assessment of who I am as a Psychologist and as a person meant that I completely lost a sense of self despite maintaining interests & a social life.
As I’m slowly coming out the other side, I’ve been curious to what has helped
Connection with those that genuinely care & share values has been crucial
I’ve also had time to slow down & connect with the playfulness of my inner child that had been lost on the DClin
I'm still looking for participants for my thesis study, below. If anyone is interested, or knows of someone who might be, please get in touch with me via email at:

@Olivia_Grace_94 It is both comforting and angering to know many seem to have had similar experiences! Training has a real way of isolating you and making it seem as if you’re the problem
There is a possibility that I may have to finish the DClinPsy without pay, as I’ve had to take 3 months out due to disability in my final placement
If you’ve been in a position where you’ve had to complete a placement after your contract has ended, would you mind reaching out?
