Fuelled by proud Ojibway and Irish ancestry, splits her time between advocating for #safe supply and #decriminalization and talking to inanimate objects.
Apple is making its products with WHAT? Listen to real customers react to the news that @Apple is complicit in the brutal repression of Uyghurs.

@AngelaSterritt I loved this morning's segment on the name change and especially appreciated when you included the Indigenous territory names in the weather forecast. #decolonizenow
@BerniePauly As and outreach nurse I have seen the stabilizing effect that safe, secure, supported, and affordable housing has on previously unhoused people. The effect is remarkable and there is an immeasurable return on every penny spent to build and operate social housing. #housingishealth
@nursembrown@cisur@CMAPStudy That makes perfect sense. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't giving incorrect advice to those who are implementing the shelter. Much appreciated!
Any recommendations for restricting (or not) access to alcohol-based hand sanitizer in a COVID isolation shelter for people newly introduced to a managed alcohol program? @CISUR@CMAPStudy
Scouring every best practice guideline I've gotten my hands on to find direction and rationale to use low dose oxygen therapy (if indicated) before naloxone to reverse an opiate overdose. Can't find a thing so far. Anyone? @Timgthr@sarahblyth@ZoeDodd @HGHobbs
@Timgthr@sarahblyth@ZoeDodd @HGHobbs Makes sense. Thanks for the info. Want to make sure I pass on the right info to volunteers. In your experience, what is the ballpark ratio of reversing ODs with stim & O2 supplementation alone versus naloxone these days? esp with benzo contamination?
@Timgthr @shoshiaronowitz @ZachWritesStuff @BCPharmacists I am worried that remaining pharmacies will also adopt this policy. This is just 1 of the pharmacy dilemmas. We also have MD/NPs that won't prescribe to ppl unless they use a 7 day/week pharmacy regardless of its proximity. A true barrier for rural residents with limited transit.
@Timgthr @shoshiaronowitz @ZachWritesStuff @BCPharmacists I am asking the same question. Pharmacy exclusion of select customers is unethical and suggests a need for a publicly run option that doesn't discriminate. @BCPharmacists #BCpoli@s_malcolmson
@Timgthr @shoshiaronowitz @ZachWritesStuff Also absurd and unethical, some of our local pharmacies in Courtenay, BC have stopped taking new naloxone/buprenorphine clients. Stigma much?
@_Jessica______M @ZoeDodd Yes! I also have a deep commitment to ending the drug poisoning crisis and have followed the work of many who hold a similar position including @ZoeDodd, @HGHobbs and @sarahblyth. Just yesterday, I realized I should let them know that I think of them often and send my love.
The TRC has documented the deaths of over 6,000 residential school children as a result of their school experience, adding that there are probably more. https://t.co/LiiulHag2l
(1/2) Almost 5 yrs into the drug poisoning crisis and not only has it not yet been declared a national public health emergency, but only a handful of provincial and national nursing orgs have endorsed #decriminalization. What are the rest of nurses saying by not saying anything?
[PETITION] 📝 For organizations: sign this petition by @HIVlegal as they continue to push the federal government to immediately decriminalize simple drug possession in Canada. Prohibition is fatal.

"Not only is this insufficient action costing lives, but it is also unfairly sacrificing the credibility of the most viable solution to prevent deaths — safe supply." https://t.co/WyOvs9ZsKC #BCpoli#SafeSupply
Concluding statement of my last project: Will we soon look back on the opioid overdose crisis to see the delays to urgent and effective responses and disproportionate impact on the Indigenous people of Canada and as another act of genocide in the on-going legacy of colonialism?
