Respected Hon'ble Governor @rajendraarlekar ji, I have tried my best to reach out to you regarding this issue through every possible means. Unfortunately, it seems we have failed today. The university administration has already failed us by not providing a resolution for this matter, despite the students tireless efforts and national-level achievement.

Today was our last hope to seek your intervention. This is my final tweet on this issue, with a heavy heart. These students worked hard for 4 months to reach the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2024, a national platform to represent Bihar and their university. Instead of receiving encouragement, they have been forced to choose between exams and this prestigious opportunity.

Why don't universities in Bihar have provisions like supplementary exams or special relaxations for students representing the state or their institution on such prestigious platforms - whether in technical, academic, or sports opportunities.

This lack of empathy and support demoralizes our youth, who work so hard to make our state proud.

This is my final appeal regarding this issue. I sincerely hope that you notice this tweet and consider intervening to support these hardworking students. More importantly, I urge you to initiate changes for the future so no student has to face such injustice again.

Thank you, and I apologize if my words are not articulated perfectly. My only intention is to ensure these students receive the support they truly deserve.

SOS 🆘 ALERT VERY URGENT
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION

A team from Patna College, Patna University, worked tirelessly for about 4 months to become Grand Finalists for the Smart India Hackathon 2024, a prestigious national event. Out of approximately 60,000 participating teams, only about 1,200 were selected, and they are one of them. Their finale is scheduled for 11th–12th December in Hyderabad, requiring them to travel on the 8th and return on the 15th.

But here’s the shocking part : Despite their incredible achievement, the university has decided to crush their dreams.

On 27th November, a notice was issued stating that semester exams would begin on 6th December, leaving no scope for these dedicated students to participate. Understanding the clash, the team immediately approached the Examination Controller’s Office with a formal application on 28th November. They even cited AICTE official guidelines, which specifically recommend postponing exams or providing support to students representing their institutions in such prestigious competitions.

For an entire week, they were assured the dates would be adjusted. But now, at the last moment, the university has shamelessly backtracked, forcing the team to choose between their exams and representing their university on a national stage!

This isn’t just about exams - it’s about losing an entire year for the 3rd and 5th Semester participants. Missing the exams means they’ll be forced to waste a whole academic year.

The team has prepared everything - their project, documentation, and even booked tickets. Despite receiving full support from the college principal and department, the university administration has shown nothing but ignorance and a lack of empathy.

Is this how Patna University treats its students? Is this the encouragement given to students striving for innovation and bringing glory to their university and state?

The university administration must immediately take action and postpone the exams and honor their earlier assurance, ensuring that the students’ dedication and hard work are not discarded.
