In 2024, Afrika Mashariki Fest organised the maiden edition of Twende Zetu Butiama Pilgrimage Safari aimed at Espousing the Enduring Legacy and Values of Hayati Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere - Tanzania's Founding Father and a Champion of @jumuiya integration.

We were privileged to have audience with H.E @KagutaMuseveni and briefed him about our idea.
Mzee welcomed the idea and termed it a Noble Initiative📌
He further guided and directed that this must be an Annual Tradition.
We remain grateful to him for his clear headed leadership, accommodativeness and commitment to the EAC Dream.

Mzee has single handedly funded the previous two editions (2024 & 2025) This year's 3rd Edition is scheduled for 1st-20th October 2026 and will be flagged off at Nkrumah Hall at the University of Dar es Salaam @UdsmOfficial, making a stopover at EAC Headquarters in Arusha, then proceed to Kenyatta University @KenyattaUni in Nairobi before proceeding to Makerere University @Makerere in Kampala.

During this year's edition, pilgrims will be paying tribute to the three Founding Fathers of EAC; Dr. Milton Obote, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere and Mzee Jomo Kenyatta by visiting Akokoro in Apac District 🇺🇬, Butiama in Mara Region 🇹🇿 and Ichaweri Gatundu in Kiambu County 🇰🇪
Enroute from Butiama to Gatundu, pilgrims will make a stopover at Bondo, Siaya County 🇰🇪 to pay tribute to Mzee Jaramogi Odinga Oginga and Baba Raila Amollo Odinga for their contributions to Kenya's Liberation Struggle.

We look forward to H.E Dr. @WilliamsRuto and H.E Dr. @SuluhuSamia joining Mzee @KagutaMuseveni to bless and power this initiative.
We salute The Rt. Hon. Speaker of @NAssemblyKE @HonWetangula and Kenya's High Commissioner to Uganda Amb. @AbabuNamwamba for warmly receiving the idea and committing to partner with Afrika Mashariki Fest.
