@Mouhssin_Ismail We need to slow the curriculum down at the very earliest stages as a significant minority begin to get left behind at Year 2. There isn't capacity in primary schools to provide the practice that that group need due to the overstuffed primary curriculum.

@GuyEmma68700 Not unions, exhaustion. Some children really don't want to be in school and make every minute hellish for all concerned. Staff are burning out as it is. I work 7 - 6 in school (primary) every day, including working break and lunch to support with behaviour as our school is tough

@cierzo1 It is good manners to take one each and make sure that everyone has something before you go round again and maybe get another. Schools are not magical places of unlimited resources.

@ClassChartsPS @adam__1098 The logging on and typing out can be done at any time - not in the middle of organising 100s of kids for sports day. The detentions are staffed anyway, I assume. No-one can drop everything in the middle of sports day for half an hour with one child.

@ClassChartsPS @adam__1098 You don't have time to stop what you are doing, chase someone down and have a half hour discussion about why someone shouldn't have taken 2 bottles when they were told to take one. There aren't the staff for all these conversations that non-teachers expect.

@nopcog @michellmybell1 I married young, had kids, supported husband's career and further qualifications by earning enough to pay the bills and doing the housework/child care. When he left for some woman from work, it was a relief. So much easier on my own with the kids.

@kateowbridge Every bit of our uniform can be bought in a supermarket and we have Aldi, big Tescos and Asda very close to school - and still a large number of children don't wear the correct uniform (wearing branded items rather than the cheap supermarket ones). Can't win.

@DudeAdhd @nsdmorrison Oh yes, definitely. See quite a lot of ASD in there too (I recognise it from my own family - all kinds of ND). But he isn't learning and neither is anyone else in the current set-up. Why shouldn't he get a place where he can get some work done since that is the point of school?

@ateachertype @RogersHistory No, it isn't the fault of primaries. Why would it be our fault? We have the same children in Y6 that you get in secondary 6 weeks later. Allowed to be rude, to argue, to never be told 'no' AT HOME which we then battle with from absolute scratch.

@NodderJulian @SamStrickers181 The evidence is that days out of school when other children are in and lessons are being missed does affect the education of an individual. Closures for everyone can be adapted for by teachers whether school holidays or emergencies.

@pdcornish76 My 50s were great! Very nearly 60 and looking forward to the next decade. Just keep moving and you'll be fine.
