@ConceptualJames@NewDiscourses Let’s do it! Let’s be unafraid to tackle touchy issues. When is it OK for white person to say “nigger?” Like, right now I’m a white person saying it to another white person for the purpose of exploring free speech, is this appropriate? What do you think?
Conversation I had last week with a guy I'd just met while traveling. After we exchanged names and basic social niceties:
Me "So do you enjoy living here now?"
Him "Yeah, it's so much better than when I was staying in Boston."
Me "In what way?
Him "Well, unlike Boston no one here asks where I went to school."
Me [thinking okay, he wants me to ask about Boston] "What were you doing in Boston?"
Him "Oh, I went to Harvard."
@datepsych Relative difficulty compared to men ALSO keeps marriages loyal& allows women to leave the house& work, socialize, etc, without wanting to cheat. Going home to your husband is a better prospect than meeting up with some probably unskilled stranger. There are racial differences too
This is not untrue, the “male gaze” is an internal pressure that’s projected out from pain, but like all inevitable things, rather than ineffectively raging against it, make the most of it. Yes, you’ll have a “perfect man” in your head, watching& judging at all times
@alt1na1 Idk I haven’t done ballet since I was a kid but that plus church choir ingrained posture pretty well, your mileage may vary. Honestly tho girl I’m sure you’re perfect already
@alt1na1 Planks, dead bugs, Russian twists work well for core, but nothing can take the place of just being aware of your posture& always keeping your shoulders back& core tight. Singing helps too, no one can sing well while slouching
Just like men raging at videos of attractive women acting in manners they would not prefer, this indignation can be converted, like other forms of energy, into a more pleasant& productive passion.
But is that so bad? To have an internal motivation to be your best? That it takes this form is alright, men and women are inexorably bound to each other. The war between the sexes rages eternal, but in individual relationships, it can be won.
@GigaThaad I love the occasional tanning bed indulgence, just use appropriate lotion. Also work your way up to the full time and ALWAYS ask for a small towel to cover your face. Face will get enough natural sun anyway& u don’t want to accelerate aging.
The son of one of my good friends has a birthday this weekend, and per my usual tradition I give a gift of a few books. He’s in fifth grade so I will add to my previous threads with a few other selections that I like to give to kids of this age.
Of everything I thought I’d lost on my old account, this is the thread I’m most proud of. “How to flirt for women.” Basically I want all of u to be happy💕
Ladies: if men are not walking up and talking to you, don’t blame low T levels or phone brain or whatever, take some personal responsibility and learn to flirt. I haven’t used these techniques in years but I guarantee they still work. Let Auntie Bones teach u
I’ve read a lot of excellent independent from these here parts, and there is ONE that screamed at me, this MUST be made into a movie. That story’s @myth_pilot’s “Our Private Kingdom”
And the ending is perfectly ambiguous, like the feeling of waking up from a dream and trying to remember it. It could be made with a touch of surrealism, with leads who have great chemistry, and other location might not be too expensive to produce.
