Interesting Sergei did not stay to help promote Belarusian independence, freedom, and democracy. The Belarus independence movement was quite active in the 1980s.

For the first time, the Kansas Water Authority voted today to recommend the state end its policy of “planned depletion” for the Ogallala aquifer.

It’s essentially the first time a state entity has officially said that pumping the aquifer dry to support crop irrigation is not ok.
