@KOMUnews He sat in traffic from 3:13pm until around 3:44am when he called my wife and said he was finally moving. The hotel said he checked in around little after 5am. We still haven’t talked to him, but hotel was gracious enough to do a wellness check and he was in his room sleeping.
@KOMUnews My 81 year old FIL left KC yesterday a little after 10am to head to a conference in STL. He stopped in Columbia for lunch around 230pm, thankfully filled up before getting back on 70EB. He called my wife at 3:13pm stating he was stuck in traffic and it was not moving.
@RubyVisor@Krodsig@MoPublicSafety@MoDOT@MSHPTrooperGHQ No joke! Hundreds of cars, black ice…they need to proactively have 10 flatbed wreckers on standby and 20 salt trucks working eastbound ahead of all this traffic!
@hdenning33@KMOV@MoDOT I searched all STL news stations and not a word about this extremely dangerous situation! I cannot wrap my head around it. This is insane!
@KcraKarmen@fox4kc@kmbc@kmoxnews@KCStar@KCTV5@KSHB41@ksdknews@KSNLocalNews@KMOV@KDNLABC30 @GovParsonMO My FIL left KC around 10am to drive to STL, he has been sitting for hours on I-70. He’s 80 years old. Currently at MM 188 sitting in traffic. There is a wreck that happened at 7:17 and is still not cleared, currently shows 5.5 hours to clear! All hands on deck needed!!
@RubyVisor@MoPublicSafety@MoDOT@MSHPTrooperGHQ Temps only dropping! My FIL is still not moving. Sounds like a truck is now blocking MM 190 EB. They are working on getting salt trucks there. Are you west of MM 190?
