@Jessieandmore We approached the WGA back in 2016 when we were first looking to unionize. They had no interest in us joining.

And yet, somehow, a number of SC/WA duties are now treated by the guild as falling under the WGA's jurisdiction.

I don't know how they can have it both ways.

I've gone back on forth on posting this because I'm sure it'll be career suicide, but I feel like it has to be said.

For many of us, the #WGA represents management:

- The abusive writer with a history of throwing chairs (and whose tantrums go unchecked by the showrunner)

@christinadirkes Unless there's language codifying a paid-for WGA staff writer in every room, or a mandate that an SC/WA get promoted (which won't happen, since as you know they're a completely diff union), I don't think room minimums will do anything to help out SS.

For example, showrunners are incentivized to hire fellows because fellows' fees are paid for by the studio (and not the show's budget). It's a free LL writer, and the money saved an attract an UL.
