If you applied for a job at Cargills Bank and had an interview between 2015-2020 but didn't get the job, the data breach has you covered - including why you weren't hired: too expensive, not enough exposure, overestimation about herself - and in no shock to anyone: pregnant.
Today, I formally complained to @CSE_Media about Cargills Bank violating regulations on corporate disclosure (Section 8). Cargills Bank was made aware on Sunday 30 March 2025 about the extent of the data breach, yet they have hid this fact from the public and its investors.
#ALERT: 🔴 Cargills Bank of Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 has reportedly suffered what may be the largest data breach in the country's history. A massive data dump has been posted on the dark web, with a hacker group claiming responsibility.
⭕️ The dump reportedly contains highly sensitive customer information, including NIC numbers, passport details, specimen signatures of staff, and more. If you're a Cargills Bank customer, as a precaution, you should assume all data you've shared with them has been compromised.
⭕️ Best practice in these scenarios is full transparency—informing customers of all available details and providing continuous updates as new information emerges. Unfortunately, the bank has not done a good job handling this situation so far, and customers have still not been properly informed about the incident. There is almost no mainstream media coverage.
⭕️ If you're potentially affected, take immediate steps to protect yourself: monitor your accounts closely, change passwords across all services (especially if you reuse passwords), and monitor your credit.
The following is a thread by @dinidu breaking down the breach and its contents. He has done an exceptional job. Some key points here are based on his findings—read his full thread on X for the complete picture.

3. We were told the same story about biokerosene: also from used cooking oil!
And bioethanol: from crop wastes!
And biomass: from forestry trimmings!
And biogas: from food waste, sewage and slurry!
And livestock feed: from food waste!
Everything could be powered by waste!
2. In 2004, biodiesel was sold to us, by the EC among others, on the grounds that it could be made from used cooking oil. We could all enjoy guilt-free driving! Yes, it *could* be. But, as I estimated that year, it could supply only 1/380th of demand. https://t.co/lHe3Mpcl3e
1. This is a thread about waste plant and animal fats, which for 20 years have been promoted as the magic potions that would solve all our transport problems. It doesn’t matter how often this story gets debunked: unlike these commodities, it appears to be endlessly recyclable.
