SheLeads Kakuma is a leadership, mentorship, and advocacy program for young women and girls in Kenya’s Kakuma refugee camp and the nearby host community.
#WorldRefugeeDay
No one becomes a refugee by choice, but we all have a choice in how we respond.
Today, we honour the strength and resilience of displaced people, and we recommit to building inclusive systems where refugees are not just surviving, but belonging. #TLC4Rights
As world leaders gather in New York for #UNGA, young women and girls from the #Kakuma refugee camp are calling for their voices to be heard. 📢
Our future depends on it! 💪✨
Let's ensure that diverse perspectives shape the decisions that will define OUR world. 🌟🌎
Glad to be hosted by @burugu_j to discuss the power of sports and youth leadership in driving social cohesion and community integration.
Excited to share upcoming projects in #Kakuma.
Grateful to the Kenyan government for fostering a safe space for refugees to thrive and lead!
Yesterday, #Kakuma 1 was alive with the energy of 50 young female leaders (ages 15-23) during a powerful 3-hour leadership workshop.
They embraced leadership key skills to unlock their potential and fuel personal growth & self-empowerment.
This is the future of leadership.
On #YouthDay, we celebrate the incredible young refugee women & girls who are harnessing the power of technology to create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
From clicks to progress, they are paving the way for sustainable development!
#SheLeadsKakuma
Today, and every day, let’s commit to creating a world where every girl, no matter her circumstances, has access to the skills to thrive and reach her full potential 💪.
From all of us at SheLeads Kakuma, happy World Youth Skills Day! 🎉
