8 weeks into school. Overwhelm has found its way into the building - teachers & students. What can #leaders do to combat this other than managing? Any practical tips to reinvigorate & inspire? Feeling like all I do is manage but I want to #lead#edchat#LeadershipDevelopment
Back in 2020 I connected with @ICGlobalCitizen@KavitaTanna Itโs been a while but I was so delighted when @KevinFullbrook1 came back from @nesachat & showed me these cards! Canโt wait to use them to foster relationships with a new team next week #empathytoimpact#sharethejourney
@MrsSpalding Iโm so happy for this thread! Iโm 10 weeks inโฆnot doing great on being kind to myself or praise as it seems inauthentic to others as Iโm not that type of person but Iโm visible ALWAYS n do what I say I will but im tired ๐
@psparksWye @Majory_T @Engleeshteacher @Team_English1 @FunkyPedagogy It takes a lot of funding. It is also based on data from teachers regarding marking, our principal is a math/science specialist & I am an ELA specialist. It does not take extra curricular into account as our teachers earn a stipend for extras.
@ModestTeacher Depends on what part of the world & system you are in. In the Middle East we do first names as family names can lead to stereotyping - so as AP Iโm Ms. Jennifer, in Sri Lanka I was Jen, in India I was Maโam/Aunty/Sister
Just sharing some pure joy! We are about to welcome hundreds of international educators on their ongoing learning journey. Walk with us over the next 6 weeks as we JOYFULLY skill up to make a difference! #PTC2022 https://t.co/OjciIKv3qf
The pandemic affected different age groups differently, but I am noticing something with this new group who was very young (5/6y) during lockdown.
It's not that they don't know how to do things. I think they're not used to being expected to do things on their own.
๐๐ผ throughout the pandemic we said it would be a travesty to go back to doing things like we did before..well it happened for most - same terms, school day..Ss know ders better ways to do things & are no longer convinced โregularโ school is the way forward. Maybe theyโre right!?!
So is everyoneโs attendance absolute garbage right now? I had like 2 students come to 1st period, but not until the last 15 minutes. And that was on par with every other classroom on our campus. ๐ซ
@MrTomRad Mine were just replaced by admin stress dreams - worrying about the adults and the students, rather than just the students #leadershipproblems
@AshleyTeaches1 @MsSheltonReads As admin I already attend both recesses every single day to support. Our teachers have a 65% timetable that includes their duties and meetings but are still feeling like thereโs too much to do. I am wondering how I can inspire rather than manage day to day. #teachertwitter

This is a quote that forever changed my life.
Please help RT in hopes someone sprinkles some love on my wishlist.
My sts come from low socially and economically disadvantage homes. What happens in the classroom WILL make a difference. #clearthelists

Hello! Iโm a 2nd grade NYC teacher in the Bronx for a title 1 school. My biggest need is all for my kids. Many wonโt have if I donโt give. Superhero day is Friday 10/21. Iโd love to give my kids capes and then save them for Halloween. #clearthelist https://t.co/KHe0Dhj4hx
