February brings new exhibits and virtual programs. In recognition of African American History Month, the Stillwater History Museum offers Early Oklahoma: Black Hope/Black Dreams on display from February 2 through May 29, 2021.
Before 1968, Americans celebrated Abraham Lincoln's and George Washington's birthdays separately on February 12th and 22nd. In 1968, the 90th Congress combined the two celebrations into one calling it "Presidents' Day." Since 1971 we pay tribute to all our leaders on this one day
Due to the cold and icy weather, the Museum will be closed this week. We plan to open with the (slightly) warmer temperatures next week on Tuesday, February 16.
Don't forget to visit the @SheerarMuseum and experience the new exhibit, "Savages and Princesses: Persistent Native American Stereotypes." Here's a link to explore the pieces and artists featured in the exhibit, along with extra information! https://t.co/5gkapAY7xh

As much as we would all like to get out of 2020, and not suffer through one more hour of it, we wanted to make sure you didn’t forget that this weekend, you need to fall back one hour.
On Saturday, October 31st, set your clocks back one hour.
I'm sure it's unusual for someone to post a bathroom, but we are so proud of our newly renovated restrooms! This one on the Museum level is the first to be completely finished. The other 3 on the Auditorium level need to be painted and have accessories installed--happening soon!
