Tesla has just officially confirmed that the driver of the Model 3 that crashed into a home in Texas manually overrode the vehicle's self-driving system by pressing the accelerator pedal.
The vehicle struck the home at 73 mph. A lot of mainstream media wrongly mislead people into thinking that it was the vehicles fault.
Case closed.
The ability to change navigation on the fly: Hey Grok, go straight here instead.
Or the ability for Nav to remember I ALWAYS avoid this road or I use the main road instead of going through this neighborhood.
But I suspect the former would be more realistic and that be sufficient and useful in more cases.
@markkaplan20@BillAckman Can you compare to life expectancy considering it’s a late stage disease. It might not be a 134x increase but more inline with Type 2.
@elonmusk@wholemars EXACTLY!! I watched and thought ‘No way FSD would do anything close to that. Instead it’d make a turn so perfectly smooth that I wouldn’t even feel it.”
@garyblack00 , to use your analogy, assume you could buy a table in that coffee shop and get paid anytime someone used it. That’s what private ownership of a Cybercab is like.
Could they also use it themselves? Certainly, just like you could sit at your table in the coffee shop.
Does your coffee shop table take the place of your dinner table? Not necessarily. But if it returned to your home when the coffee shop closed, you certainly could use it that way.
This is the beginning of a new age, new industries, new opportunities for all!
For many, it will be cheaper to use these than it will be to make car payments, pay insurance, annual taxes/registration, pay for maintenance (oil changes/new tires/brakes etc..) only to have it rapidly depreciate unused 80% of the time.
FSD has gotten so insanely good. I don’t understand why anyone in the market for an EV would buy anything else than a Tesla at this point. Total game changer.
@elonmusk Any chance you’ll introduce @Tesla_Optimus in a orchestra of Optimi all playing instruments to show off insane motor control in hands?
*Wind instruments not included.
Tesla will NEVER have a driverless vehicle!
Ok, it’s driverless. But Tesla will NEVER remove the safety monitor.
Ok, they removed the safety monitor. But it requires a chase car! Tesla will NEVER be able to get it work without a chase car!
*2 days later*
Ok, no chase car. But it’s only 2 cars. Tesla will NEVER have more than 2 fully unsupervised cars!
Ok, it’s 4 cars. But Tesla will NEVER have more than 4 cars.
Ok, it’s 6 cars. But Tesla will NEVER have more than 6 cars.
Ok, it’s 7 cars. But Tesla will NEVER launch this beyond Austin, Texas
Ok, it’s in Houston. But tesla will NEVER launch this outside Texas.
Okay, it’s outside Texas. But tesla will NEVER launch this outside the united states.
Ok; it’s global. But it will NEVER work on Mars or the moon.
