@AlLubak@AhmedSheriffdin If by dawah scene you mean converting crackheads and schizo nerds to islaam? Sure.
But none of these low quality individuals have benefitted the Ummah.
Real mass historical conversion has happened under the Ash'aris and Maturidis
I don't engage with trolls, but from time to time I have to get down from my tower to engage them, especially when I see that the confidence of their position is not born out of their expertise in the matter. This man(or woman) is calling something shirk that he/she has no idea what it even is. So here is how you need to understand this issue because the ignominy surrounding it is quite widespread and given the takfiri attitude of people like him/her is dangerous:
1) The shirt that some Muslims wore in the past, or some amulets (ta'weez) that people carried or carry have something called awfaq. What is awfaq? Awfaq is, to quote the Imam of the Shafi'i's Ibn Hajar al Haytami:
"the science that goes back to the numerical correspondence/relationships between numbers, and arranging them in the form of a figure made of nine squares (a 3x3 grid). The total sum on each side reaches fifteen. It is said to be beneficial for fulfilling needs, like freeing a prisoner, helping with delivery of the fetus, and other matters of this general type". He goes on to give an example of how it looks, which is attached here.
People talk about shirk and kufr on things that they don't even have a proper definition for. Sometimes the name Talisman (or tilism) is used for awfaq. Not all Talisman is awfaq. Imam Hajar spoke of one type of awfaq but there are different types with different shapes. But the grid is the most used.
And what is the ruling on the matter from the Shariah?
He says:
“The science of al-Awfāq contains nothing prohibited, provided it is used in permissible ways. It has been نقل (reported) from al-Ghazālī and others that they paid attention to it (as in they used it). Likewise, it was related to me about our shaykh, Shaykh al-Islām Zakariyyā al-Anṣārī—may Allah have mercy on him—that he considered it good, and that he has a valuable work on it.”
"And there is no objection in it if it is used for something permissible—unlike when it is used as a means to something unlawful. In that sense, the classification of al-awfāq as a kind of magic by al-Qarafi is to be understood.”
As a follower of the 4 Madhabs, I am content that an Imam of the School considers it permissible. That should be proof enough. But if I had to guess Radio Muft may not consider it good enough. He needs proof from the Sunnah and from the Rightly Guided Caliphs. First of all, even if there was a proof, I am not sure he would understand it by himself. He still has to rely on some Imam to interpret what the proof are and mean. I don't think Radio Muft is an expert in the Arabic language and deriving legal principles (Usul al Fiqh).
Furthermore, in the Shariah, not all actions have to find the exact practice of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم or the Sahabah May Allah be pleased with them all (not only the Rightly Guided btw). All actions are permissible unless deemed otherwise. This is one of the principles of the Shariah.
I am sure some of you ask "but why are we not reading the Quran itself for the release of the prisoner or ease of childbirth, why do we need a grid for that". The answer is that you can if that's what suits you. But it does not make another action haram just because you don't understand the mechanism underpinning it.
Abu Huraira, May Allah be pleased with him, says in Kitab al ilm in al Bukhari:
“I memorized from the Messenger of Allah two containers (two kinds) of knowledge. As for one of them, I have spread it. As for the other, if I were to spread it, this throat would be cut.”
Meaning, people at the time had not yet understood it. But it does not mean that it was any less true. It is possible that al awfaq and other similar knowledge came from the Sahaba through lesser known chains (as in through family members). The important thing is that it does not contradict the Shariah as understood through our Madhabs, for which I would, as a lay man, take Imam Hajar's word over Radio Muft any day.
You may also ask "but doesn't Allah only fulfill needs, why do we need grids for it?". This matter has been settled for centuries and only reformist strains of Islam like the Salafis find problem with it. Simply: nothing is independent of Allah and the grid does not operate by itself. It adheres to the Sunnah that Allah has in place, a cause and effect if you will. Some causes and effects are apparent like a pill and treating a headache. Others not so much. Importantly, nothing operates independent of Allah. It follows a principle that Allah has in place.
Lastly, to call the Khalifa of the Muslims a "despot" disqualifies you from the conversation. But since I have a degree in Special Needs Children Education, I entertain all creatures of Allah.

Abu Hanifa’s madhab is as far as China in the east and Bosnia in the west.
The last two great muslim empires were both Hanafi (Ottomans and Mughals).
The first codified legal system was primarily Hanafi.
Where are the madhabs of Sufyan al-Thawri, al-Awzai, Layth, the basrans like Hammad Ibn Salamah, Dawud al-Zahiri, etc? They are dead!
The Hanbali madhab exists in tiny pockets with more online larpers than real world adherents!
Who were Abdullah Ibn Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Nuaym Ibn Hammad, Ibn Abi Hatim, al-Khatib al-Baghdadi, etc, compared to Yahya Ibn Sa’id al-Qattan and Yahya Ibn Ma’in?
When Yahya Ibn Ma'in was told about those who spoke against Abu Hanifa, he would say:
'They envied the prime man when they could not achieve his efforts... for the people are his opposites and rivals.'
'Like the co-wives of the beautiful woman who said about her face... out of envy and spite, saying that it is ugly.'"

It's almost 2026, and one still has to explain to a Wahhabi that the laws of logic are not an innovation simply because the Salaf didn't formulate them — they relied upon them as priori principles.
