Hello, I’m a biological anthropologist in a movie. I don’t notice when bones are plastic models rather than real, and I can accurately age and sex a skeleton as well as diagnosing cause of death just by glancing at a patella. I wear glasses just so you know I’m kinda sciencey.
Doing outreach and public engagement, and the time and skill it takes to share scholarship beyond academia, should get more acknowledgement and respect in all areas of academia.
