Bird of the Year 2023!!
Tasmania’s blue gum forests are alive with their calls right now - the only way that continues into the future is if we stop destroying them

The public have always been aware of & concerned about swift parrots - that’s not the problem.
The problem is that successive governments won’t stand up to the logging industry.
The only vote that matters is the one for leaders that will actually protect Tasmanian forests 👀
In QT today, I asked Labor's Environment Minister if she’d stop approving new coal and gas mines.
She said ‘No’.
In a climate crisis, Labor backs *more* coal and gas mines.
This is utterly appalling, @tanya_plibersek.
When will Australia have a Federal Environment Minister that actually ensures wildlife, including threatened species, are safe?
No amount of spin and greenwashing makes this go away.
Environmental Defenders Office have launched legal action over Woodside’s approval to conduct seismic blasting for its mega-polluting Scarborough Gas Project. https://t.co/XnL7YLIscd
BREAKING: We’ve just launched legal action on behalf of a Traditional Custodian over Woodside’s approval to conduct seismic blasting off the coast of Western Australia for its mega-polluting Scarborough Gas Project.
Has anyone heard @Tanya_Plibersek make a statement, anywhere, about the felling of a tree in Tasmania that's possibly > 400 years old?
Or are @AustralianLabor just pretending it didn't happen under their watch?
Dear World,
This is what the @AlboMP government is allowing to continue, in 2023, against the wishes of most Australians and to the severe detriment of biodiversity.
Please join us in calling for this to end, urgently.
