So that’s that! Thirty years Police plus six years military serving Queen, King and country. My thanks to @ChiefGlosPolice for the wonderful send-off today. Mrs S has now reclaimed me with a massive to-do list! #timetohanguptheboots

This guy is talking sense.

All the great and good watching a motor race where the cars can’t overtake. I just don’t get it…

Seeing all those empty stands whilst watching the Quinns game on tv I do wonder why my season ticket wouldn’t get me into the ground this evening. Wouldn’t bums on seats be better @BathRugby? The boys are needing our support…

[Jon Stratford @Shelldrake999]

@jeppe_olesen Well said. Our family went last year and loved it but it’s excruciatingly expensive. There’s no place for the traditional motor sports fan who just wants to rock up with a camping chair and watch the action. GA+ has put paid to that.

Another final tarnished as Obano’s red card a blight on rugby’s integrity | Premiership | The Guardian https://t.co/zhQZ1Oycif

[Jon Stratford @Shelldrake999]

I should add I :

- know and agree player safety is paramount

- have no issue with the ref

- feel it’s the laws that impose such a draconian punishment for a relatively minor incident that are the problem.

Notwithstanding the legal pressures on the @RFU this isn’t right!

[Jon Stratford @Shelldrake999]

No malice. No injury. Note even an HIA for goodness sake.

But a red card decides the outcome of the final - the season!

A carnival of rugby ruined…

It’s a nonsense. Please - those that run rugby, show some respect for the fans and sort this out.

#GallagherPremFinal

[Jon Stratford @Shelldrake999]

@ITVRugby @BathRugby Ruined what up to that point had been a fabulous game of rugby. Didn’t warrant an HIA but determined the outcome of the final. Indeed the whole season! Such a shame…

No issue with the ref. The laws are an ass! Needs sorting out.

[Jon Stratford @Shelldrake999]

@premrugby @SaintsRugby A magnificent occasion spoiled by the red card. Congratulations to Saints but they weren’t the stronger team today. Bath were immense making a game of it. But the fact is the final, the entire season, was decided by an incident that didn’t even warrant an HIA. Nonsensical!

[Jon Stratford @Shelldrake999]

@autosport Rephrase the question - should a motor race be held on a track where cars cannot overtake?

Answer seems pretty obvious to me…

[Jon Stratford @Shelldrake999]

Goodness Twitter is a toxic place today! Vitriol being spouted by those who (like myself) wouldn’t have the first idea how to referee an international game and wouldn’t survive 30 seconds in contact with those guys. Just respect the talent and enjoy the spectacle people!

[Jon Stratford @Shelldrake999]

@judith_major @VOC2016 Never doubted it Judith! 😁

[Jon Stratford @Shelldrake999]

Today’s the day! @VOC2016
Game on!

[Jon Stratford @Shelldrake999]

@judith_major @VOC2016 Remember that evening out with my boy with great fondness Judith! 🙏. Enjoy the game today - but hopefully not to much! 😉

@fatwhitebloke We were all squirming! That isn’t to say restorative approaches aren’t appropriate - done properly they require the perpetrator to confront the impact of their behaviour and transform attitudes. But that requires a trained facilitator. A cosy chat with the sarge doesn’t cut it…

[Jon Stratford @Shelldrake999]

@adge1609 @ASPolice Spot on Adge. Well said!
