Been a while since I posted here, but since this is a moderately large audience of mostly tech-saavy folks: my organization just got word that our contract has not been renewed (word is someone came in and told them they can do it cheaper) and so we have until june.

@khaldounbouzai1@camenduru I'm sure there's a better way, but in the past I've used meshlab's ball pivoting algorithm (Filters->Remeshing->Surface Reconstruction: Ball Pivoting) to get an obj mesh from PLY. Not sure how the material will transfer as the color data's attached to verts and not faces though
If you're trying to play around with these .PLYs in blender, make sure you have TombstoneTumbleweedArt/import-ply-as-verts addon (attaches colors to verts) and you'll need to manually map the colors (f_dc_[index]) like so:

@bensartnoodles yup-- batched a closed loop with animatediff, then mapped the audio signal to 20 frames forward/backward plus a constant frame increment. thanks :)
