Is this too obvious to point out? As challenging as online teaching has been this year, we've done it on a foundation of in-person relationships we spent seven months building in real classrooms. Next year we may not be working off that foundation.

Students start to see that: 1.) not everyone responds to every situation the same way. 2.) There is a lot of “gray” area in life. 3.) Easy way to correct behaviors without calling out/singling out students. Really opened up some good discussion.
Looking for a Character Ed discussion with your class? Try Rude, Not, or Depends. Have the class come up with scenarios that occur in their everday lives (no names). Collect and read out. Have students decide whether it was rude, not rude, or depends on the situation.

Yesterday, #skanodolphins in grades 3-5 had Dolphin Day. Students were awarded for showing good bucket filling behavior during lunch, discussed upcoming important dates, and introduced the new character word for February- volunteerism.
