Hajj Shawqi is one of those grandparents. He now cares for his sons' young children, making sure they have something to eat so they can continue to grow despite the circumstances surrounding them. It is a responsibility he never expected at this stage of his life.

On June 22, The Sameer Project kitchen prepared and distributed 365 freshly cooked mujaddara meals to families in Al-Silwan Camp in Al-Bureij, providing a nourishing meal to those who needed it most. This entire distribution cost $584, including bank commission of 11%.

A relatively small amount can feed hundreds of people when every dollar is stretched as far as possible. We are operating at minimal capacity yet we can do so much more, help so many more, with more funding.
