RAJMATA KUNTI

The woman who carried a kingdom in her heart

⚜️ Before she was known as Kunti, she was Prithā a young girl entrusted to another household, unaware that destiny had already chosen her
for one of the greatest stories ever told.

⚜️ As a maiden, she received a sacred mantra from Sage Durvāsā…a boon through which she could invoke a deity
and receive a child.

Curiosity became destiny.

⚜️ She invoked Surya…the Sun God,
and from that divine encounter Karna was born, a child born with natural armour and earrings but a mother forced by circumstance had to place her newborn in a river.

She carried that secret
for years.

⚜️ Then came her marriage to King Pandu.
And when fate separated Pandu from his kingdom, Kunti became the mother
who carried her family through exile, uncertainty and loss.

⚜️ Through the divine mantra,
she became mother to:
• Yudhishthira ~ born of Dharma,
the embodiment of righteousness.
• Bhima ~ born of Vayu,
possessing extraordinary strength.
• Arjuna ~ born of Indra, destined to become one of the greatest warriors
of the Mahābhārata.

⚜️ She also accepted Madri’s sons, Nakula and Sahadeva…raising the five Pandavas
as one family after Madri’s death.

But Kunti’s strength
was never simply the strength of a mother.
She witnessed exile.
She witnessed humiliation.
She watched her sons lose their kingdom.
She endured the uncertainty of war.
And she carried within herself
the unbearable knowledge that Karna the warrior standing against her sons…was also her firstborn.

⚜️ On the eve of the great war…Kunti revealed the truth to Karna:
You are my son!

But destiny had already woven
too many loyalties, wounds and promises
to be undone.
Karna wouldn’t abandon Duryodhana.
Kunti couldn’t abandon her sons.

And so a mother stood between two sides of a war knowing that whichever way destiny turned…she would lose a son!

That is the tragedy of Kunti.
She was neither merely a queen…nor merely a mother.
She was a woman forced to make impossible choices inside an impossible world.
And after the destruction of Kurukshetra,
when victory had finally come at a terrible price…Kunti revealed the truth about Karna
to the Pandavas.

⚜️ Their victory became intertwined
with grief.
Perhaps that is why Kunti’s prayer to Krishna is among the most striking moments associated with her character.
She asks Krishna to remain with her even through adversity because suffering had repeatedly turned her heart toward the Divine.
Not because pain is desirable, but because she had discovered something within herself through it:
“when everything external is taken away…
what remains is the soul’s relationship with the Divine.”

Kunti’s legacy is therefore not simply
that she gave birth to heroes.
It is that she endured circumstances
that could have broken her, yet continued to carry responsibility, love, Dharma and faith.

She made mistakes.
She kept secrets.
She suffered consequences.
She loved imperfectly.
And still…she kept standing!

⚜️ That may be the most human part
of Rajmata Kunti’s story.
She did not live an easy life…she lived a consequential one.
A woman who lost a child, raised five sons,
endured exile, survived political upheaval,
faced the devastation of war, and continued to seek the Divine through it all.

Kunti reminds us:
You may not choose the circumstances into which destiny places you.
But you can choose what kind of strength
you carry through them.

⚜️ She was Prithā.
She became Kunti.
She became Rajmata.
But beyond every title she remained a woman who carried an entire generation
through the fire of destiny.

of the Mahābhārata.

THE 64 YOGINIS
FEMININITY WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE CONTROLLED

Long before modern women were told to shrink themselves into acceptable shapes…the sacred traditions of Bharat imagined the feminine as powerful, fierce, wise, sensual, protective and free!

The 64 Yoginis embody a vision of Shakti that refuses to fit into one definition of womanhood.
They remind us that a woman can be a healer and a warrior, a mother and a mystic, gentle and fierce…without having to choose.

Their ancient temples, often circular and open to the sky, stand as extraordinary reminders of a spiritual tradition in which feminine divinity was not merely worshipped from a distance…but honoured in many forms and expressions.

Maybe that is why their stories still fascinate us.
Because the Yoginis whisper something timeless:
“You were never created to be controlled.
You were created to awaken.”

So, sisters…let’s smash the patriarchy not by becoming harder…but by becoming fully ourselves.
Remember the women whose strength existed before anyone gave it permission.

Honour the Yoginis.
Reclaim your Shakti.
Walk unapologetically in your own power. 🌸✨

If caste-based reservation is to remain part of India’s system, then academic and professional standards must still remain non-negotiable.
A student shouldn’t become a doctor simply because of their caste category. Medical education must ensure that every graduate has demonstrated the knowledge, skills and competence required to treat patients safely!!!
Universities should also ensure that examinations genuinely assess the level of learning achieved…not lower the standard to accommodate weaker outcomes!!!
If someone can’t meet the requirements for medicine, they should be guided toward a profession that matches their demonstrated abilities, not given a degree simply to fulfil a quota for example.
Equal opportunity should mean removing barriers to education, while competence remains the standard for the profession.🤨
