happy 20th anniversary to resident evil 4! we'll always cherish all the thrilling, often stupid, memories. what's that? you don't remember these scenes? well you must have forgotten. it has been 20 years. go play otome edition if you need a refresher.
@emilykmay men are such sensitive weenies that I don't think they need to be pegged to gain some empathy for the vulnerability that women experience. a finger will suffice.
Putting aside my steadfast belief that the backrooms should be treated figuratively, I think you could argue that the space, as a dumping ground for human memory, gradually remodels itself around changes in our built environment
This encapsulates so many things i adore about the backrooms. How did a space resembling our modern human artificial environments exist an infinite amount of time before we built them? Is it the other way around? Did we build our spaces after it? How is it there? So cool
@ifkate Didn't think of the backrooms as a metaphor for the internet but that is interesting. The internet is a collective memory space that degrades and fragments with time, so definitely works, especially with people performing skewed versions of themselves in the space.
@ifkate You can feel Levinson using Lexi as the voice of "middle-class america", focused on the dignity of a career and boilerplate feminism. But there's no actual character arc for *her*. She effectively gets her bestie killed by yapping and then is like "the bible is pretty wise".
