Kevin James opened up about a painful season with his daughter.

He said she was on the spectrum and struggling with serious tics. He and his wife did not know what to do.

So James began to fast and pray.

On The Joe Rogan Experience, he said the fast lasted 41 and a half days. He said he drank water with a little salt. He said he did not start by saying he would go 40 days. He just wanted to do whatever he could.

Later, on Catholics and Cappuccinos, he said it was a commitment he made for his daughter.

This was not about fame. It was not about a movie role. It was a father hurting for his child and turning to God in prayer.

A fast does not force God’s hand. Prayer is not magic. But fasting can show humility, grief, love, and deep dependence on the Lord.

Kevin James used his pain as a reason to seek God. That is what fathers should do. Stand in the gap. Pray for their children. Bring their fear to God instead of carrying it alone.
