Has he gone left? Why say a couple of women? I have never heard of a couple of women in a garage who starts a business that grows large enough to disrupt an industry. It's funny he just throws random stuff in his speech. Everyone I know who started a business in a garage is a man. Steve Jobs, Larry Page, Jeff Bezos and etc.
Read about governments in the past and what they did to secure the most important commodity during their times. Emperor Qin monopolized salt, which was the most important ingredient as people cannot survive without salt. Just like salt, governments today have control over energy. It is so important that they cannot let private companies have control over it. Now, look at how much energy Iren has secured. It is almost 5 GW. They foresaw AI revolution will happen and it will require massive amounts of energy. And they secured it before the world knew AI will require this much energy. It is not something that Microsoft can just secure with money. Not matter how big you are, you cannot just have large amounts of energy. In a world where energy is becoming increasingly important and difficult to secure, how are these hyperscalers going to catch up with Iren? Even Elon Musk, one of the most successful entrepreneurs in history is having a hard time securing enough energy for his company and now he is saying that he cannot do it on earth so he needs to go to space for it. And some people say what if governments decide to increase the amount of energy they produce? Then read the book titled "Abundance" in this book you will see that energy is so complicated and there are interests of so many different parties and it almost ends up with multiple lawsuits that takes years to resolve. Others argue technological advancement will make energy consumption more useful and people will come up with a way to consume less energy for the same output, then read about Jevon's paradox. The more efficient energy gets the more energy people use not less. Now with all these, it will be quite hard to believe that companies will catch up with Iren.
@theswansjr Even the 2 percent you say that own bitcoin are investing less than 10 percent of their networth in it. So, we are very early. Earlier than most think.
@ceoally@Dav_Kaiser@alexeixbt You still have many lessons to learn boy. All of the things on the list are true. No one is going to save you. No woman is yours and they don't love you for who you are.
I have been investing 90 plus percent of my net worth in Iren, which is tens of millions. I am planing to sell at least half of it. I really loved their vision and idea that power will be the most important asset in the future. And Ai and blockchain revolution will be bottlenecked by land, power, and electricity. I get their vision. But with the management team looking to be compensated with no condions is just wrong. Same here. Even if I could make hundreds of millions of dollars, if that is not from a company that I fully trust, I wouldn't want that money.
@Vivek4real_ Who believes what he says anymore? He says one thing and then another a year later. His opinions are always shallow. Listen to people who say things that are deep not these guys who change their minds all the time and shallow.
Wow this is the most ignorant understanding of Buffett's investing style. The person who thinks Buffett's investing style is flawed because he does not invest in technology does not understand what technology is. Like Michael Sylor said, there is not a single company that is not a technology company on earth. Every company is a technology company. Even a company that manufactures candy bars is a technology company. Do you think they make candy bars with their workers bare hands? They manufacture them using machines that are built based on physics. McDonald's is a technology company that use the most advanced distribution technology and manufacturing machines. Buffett knows that he can avoid catastrophic failure when he only invest in companies where he has a circle of competence. He knows that a new industry tend to produce many companies that will inevitably fail and lose the competition. He does not invest in a new industry where there are many companies that are overvalued. That is why he doesn't invest in Elon Musk. Not because he is ignorant and doesn't believe in technology. Anyone who thinks that Buffett does not like technology is wrong and has not thought deep enough.
@pete_rizzo_ A complete lie. Humans will always smarter than ai in some aspects. It is just certain aspects in which ai will be smarter. This guy does not know what insight, wisdom, emotion intelligence, and prediction are.
@ZynxBTC 1 million dollars? Not 10 million dollars? There is a big difference between money and currency. Bitcoin is the only thing that humanity has that can be called money. All the other things are just currencies.
Thank you for your detailed answer! I have been suffering from sibo for 5 years. And it is really frustrating. I recently watched a video on YouTube where a guy claims that he has cured his sibo with ginger and artichoke extract. I immediately tried it on an empty stomach and heard instantly gurgling sounds. My symptoms improved quite rapidly. However, my problem is I started feeling a lot of pain in my stomach when I took it without any meals. It is really effective when taking it on an empty stomach but I cannot because it just hurts so much. Now I am kind of lost.
When did you take artichoke and ginger extract? Did you take them with meals or on an empty stomach? And it took you a whole year?? Did it slowly improve? Did you have some bad days even after you started taking ginger and artichoke? I have sibo now and trying very hard to treat it. It just doesn't seem to go away. Your comment will be very helpful!
He is just making assumptions. And his assumptions might not be true. It might be that their wives became arrogant and had more incentives to divorce them. Life is not that simple. He might think that it was the ego that made them divorce their wives. What if it was their wives who wanted to divorce them?
I beat my brother up and peed on him, clearly a wrong thing to do. You know what my dad did to teach me a lesson? He slapped me in the face and even punched me. He even held a chair and hit me with it. I never lost trust in my father. It never broke the bond between me and my father. I am glad he taught me a lesson that day. Kids need to learn.
This stupid guy is the reason why there are so many liberals in the world now. Read the texts, it says that he bullied his friend fighting cancer. Also, the dad is not torturing his son. He is simply teaching him a lesson that when you bully someone who is fighting for his life, there will be a consequence.
This is exactly what I have been thinking, why does it seem like everybody is paying attention to some other stocks like Coherent, and Lumentum, and etc when Soi tec has a monopoly in the wafer market and they are undervalued? I know that we have hit the copper wall and how data moves will change and the photonics industry will benefit immensely. However, the problem is that most stocks in the photonics industry seem overvalued already or at least fairly valued.
I can never trust people like Chamath, this guy changes his opinions all the time. I remember him saying how the price of bitcoin will skyrocket then he changes his mind about it and starts pushing some other crypto currencies. This guy speaks lightly. The type of person you should avoid.
Michael Saylor, on the other hand, has been consistent with his views on bitcoin since 2020. I watched all his "What is Money" series when the market cap of Microstrategy was only 500m. Now it is approaching 50b. Watch his interviews, he puts his money exactly where his mouth is.
I don't trust clowns, I trust people with conviction. I don't trust people who only talk, I trust people who take action.
